Use this step-by-step guide to generate voiceovers from text in WeVideo projects for adding media, including helpful tips and best practices.

Generate voiceovers from text in WeVideo by selecting +Add media and then Text to speech. Enter the content, select language preferences, then click Generate and Save.

1. Start a new project, then select +Add media and Text to speech from the top toolbar. 

(Note: This tab can also be used to upload media, record a voiceover or podcast, or narrate. If recording or narrating, grant WeVideo access to the camera and/or microphone. Use the timeline to edit clips, trim, filter, and add transitions. Use WeVideo’s stock media, music library, and more. Edit clips in the full featured editor using this support article or the Simplified editor with this support article.)

2. Enter text and select the language and voice preferences.

3. Click Generate. Select the Play button to preview the voiceover. Click Save when done.

Text to speech limitations

  • Text to speech is limited to 1000 characters per segment.
