Invitation Collaboration allows for users in WeVideo Multimedia Creation to invite others to collaborate on their respective projects. This change allows for more creator flexibility: instead of only inviting collaborators in the beginning of the creation process, creators can now invite thought partners anytime during their content journey. To collaborate, users must be on the same WeVideo school account as those they would like to collaborate with.

Invitation collaboration

Click on the add collaborator button on the top of a project workspace. The button is a circle with a figure of a person and a plus sign.

Invite members to collaborate: Once the collaborator button is clicked, a pop out with a sharable link will appear on the screen. Click to copy the link.

3. Paste the copied link to wherever you are communicating with your collaborator (email, text message, etc). Click Done.

4. Send the link to the collaborator.

5. Once the collaborator opens the link through opening their WeVideo account, they will appear as a member on the members list. Collaborators can export the project, invite other collaborators, duplicate the project, and edit within the project. Collaborators cannot delete the project and remove other collaborators

Access shared projects

The shared projects will appear on the Projects page. Users can use the filter tool to filter for the projects created by others to locate the shared projects.

To jump in and edit the shared projects, click Edit to launch the video editor and start working on the project.

Create copies for shared projects

If the users want to edit the shared project without altering the original project, they can create a copy of the shared project to work on. The copied project is independent from the original project, and any changes made to the copied project will not affect the original project.

To create a copied project, click the triple dots button of the shared project and select Make a Copy.

A copied version of the project will be added to the Projects page and is ready for editing.

Combine shared projects into a new project

Instructors can combine multiple shared projects into one project and further edit them. The combined project is independent of the shared projects and any changes made to it will not affect the original projects.

To combine the shared projects, select them by clicking the check box.

Click Combine on the top to combine them into a new project.

Adjust the order of the selected projects. According to this order, they will be added to the new project’s timeline. Click Combine to complete the process.

The completed project will be opened in the project editor and ready for editing. Users can also find the combined project on the Projects page.
