To share folders with other WeVideo users, find the folder on the Projects page, open the three-dots menu, and click Share. Sharing folders allows multiple users to make collaborative edits, including editing multimedia projects in real time.

Before you start
- You can only share folders with WeVideo users within the same license. If you cannot add a collaborator to your folder, ensure that the user is on your license by checking with your WeVideo account administrator.
How to share folders
Go to the Projects page of your Multimedia Creation dashboard, click the three dots next to any folder title, and then click Share.
Add a collaborator by typing their name, group, or email address. Then click Invite.
Repeat as needed until all collaborators have been added. There is no limit to the number of collaborators on shared folders.
Permissions for shared folder collaborators
Inviting collaborators to a folder will grant access to all projects and subfolders within that folder.
Invited collaborators can view, edit, export, and duplicate any project within the folder by opening the shared folder and projects from the Projects page.
Important notes on shared folder permissions:
- Invited collaborators cannot remove collaborators, delete projects, or move projects into or out of their current folders.
- Collaborators invited to a folder can access any subfolders within that folder. However, the opposite is not true; a collaborator invited directly to a subfolder will not have access to the master folder unless granted separately.
- To limit permissions within a folder, invite collaborators on a project-by-project basis instead.
How to unshare folders
To unshare a folder, find the folder on the Projects page, click the three dots, and click Unshare with everybody.
Alternatively, remove individual collaborators from the folder by clicking the three dots next to the folder name, then selecting Share.
Click the three dots next to the person’s name, and then click Remove.
Plan and permission requirements for sharing folders
- Any WeVideo user can share folders; however, as noted above, all invited collaborators must be on the same WeVideo license.
