Invitation collaboration allows WeVideo users to invite other WeVideo users to collaborate on their multimedia projects. Any number of collaborators may be invited at any time in the content creation or editing process, and collaborative editing can be done in real time or asynchronously.

Tips for using invitation collaboration

Collaborate in real time

Invited collaborators can edit the same project simultaneously through Real-Time Collaboration.

Copy projects

The copy option for the projects in WeVideo.

To edit shared projects without altering the original project, collaborators can click Make a copy. The copied project is independent of the original project, and any changes made to the copied project will not affect the original.

Combine projects

Instructors can combine multiple shared projects into one project and further edit them. The combined project is independent of the shared projects, and any changes made to it will not affect the original projects.

Select the projects with the checkboxes, then click the combine button at the top.

To combine the shared projects, select them and then click Combine.

Reorder projects if needed and then click Combine.

Remove collaborators

The unshare with everyone option for folders and projects in WeVideo.

To remove collaborators, click the three dots, then select Unshare with everyone

The remove access option in the invite collaboration panel.

Alternatively, remove collaborators individually by opening a specific project, clicking the collaborator button, clicking the three dots menu next to the person’s name, and then clicking Remove.

Plan and permission requirements for invitation collaboration

  • Any WeVideo user can invite collaborators; however, as noted above, users must be on the same WeVideo license.
