Log in to your WeVideo account, click the user icon in the top-right corner of the page, and select the Account Settings option.
On the account settings page, you can find the following information about your account.
- Username and organization
- The amount of export time and cloud storage available in the license
- If the license has an expiration date, it will be listed at the top of the account settings page. This information is not visible to learners.
After adjusting any settings on the account settings page, click the WeVideo icon at the top of the page to navigate back to the Multimedia Creation space.
Adjust the account settings
Adjust name, email, password, and profile picture
Click the pen icon next to the profile picture on the Account Settings page.
In the Edit My Details window, you can adjust the following information for your account.
- First name and last name: These will be displayed to other users in the license when you interact with them.
- Username: It will default to the email address you used for the account. You can adjust it to a shorter user ID and use it when logging in with your password. If the account is created with an SSO service, this section cannot be adjusted; please contact WeVideo Support to make changes.
- Email: The email account used to create the account and will also be used for receiving email notifications from WeVideo. You can adjust it to another email if needed. If the account is created with an SSO service, this section cannot be adjusted; please contact WeVideo Support to make changes.
-
Password: Update your password by entering the new password in the New Password section and repeat it in the Confirm Password section. The password must meet the following requirements:
- At least 8 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
- Profile picture: Update your profile picture by clicking the Replace option below it.
After adjusting any settings in the Edit My Details window, click Save to save and apply the changes.
Adjust time zone for the account
The assignment start and due dates will follow the instructor’s account time zone setting, so if you plan to travel while the assignment is active, or you have learners from multiple time zones, it is recommended to set a time zone for your account instead of letting the system determine it.
Click the Time Zone option on the Account Settings page, then select a time zone from the drop-down to set it as the account's time zone. If no time zone is selected, WeVideo will default to the time zone set on your device.
Adjust privacy settings
The privacy settings control email notification preferences, the data collected, and whether to enable two-factor authentication for the account. Please see this article for more information on adjusting privacy settings for your WeVideo account.
Adjust connected apps
The connected apps section lets you connect third-party accounts to your WeVideo account, so you can import media from them or export your projects directly to them.
Hover over the app you want to connect, click the Connect button next to it, then log in to your account and follow the instructions to complete the process.
To disconnect the app, hover over the app and click the Disconnect button.
To learn more about using connected apps in WeVideo, please see the articles below.
Manage personal data
Manage personal data section allows you to create a personal data archive for your account. Select whether to include copies of your created video, then click the Create Archive button.
Adjust notification settings
Adjust what types of notifications you want to receive, and how you would like to receive them. Toggle the switches next to each category to adjust it.
Adjust LTI settings
Generate an LTI connection code to connect the license to the LMS environment. This step needs to be performed only once for the entire license and should be conducted by the LMS admins. Please see these articles for more information on setting up LTI integration for WeVideo in the LMS.
Adjust Interactivity settings
Settings that apply to Interactivity can also be adjusted from the Account Settings page. Expand the Interactivity section to adjust the following settings.
- Instructor visibility: Adjust the default visibility for the interactive videos and playlists. This setting will affect whether interactive videos and playlists can be found in the Premade Content Library, but it will not affect whether learners can take the assignment.
- Interactive Video Defaults: Adjust the default settings for the interactive videos.
- Interaction Defaults: Adjust the default settings for different interactions. Click the drop-down to select the interaction type, then adjust its settings. After adjusting the settings, you can use the drop-down to select another interaction type and adjust its settings.
Please note that the adjusted Interactivity settings will only affect the interactive videos and playlists created after the adjustment. For the existing interactive videos and playlists, please adjust their settings individually. Learn more about adjusting interactive video and interaction settings.
Role requirements for adjusting account settings
Users with the Admin or Instructor role can view and adjust all the settings listed in this article from their Account Settings page.
Users with the Student role can only see the Privacy Settings, Connected Apps, Manage Personal Data, and Notifications for their account. While the Privacy Settings and Manage Personal Data sections are visible to them, they cannot edit the settings in either section and are prompted to contact the school admin to make any changes. They can only adjust the Connected Apps and the Notifications settings for their account.
