Instructors can assign different versions of a training video to learners through WeVideo, compare learners' performance and retention rates by examining gradebook and monitor page data, and monitor learners' progress in WeVideo classes.
Before you start
- Create an interactive training video.
- Create classes in WeVideo. When viewing video analytics, all learners in the class are listed. Therefore, it’s recommended that separate versions of a training video be assigned to different classes.
- Assign the interactive video to your WeVideo classes.
Examine and compare the completion rate of the interactive videos
From the Multimedia Creation space, navigate to the Classes page and select the class where the training video is assigned.
Click the interactive video assignment in the class to open the monitor page.
Alternatively, from the Interactivity space, navigate to the Classes page and select the class where the training video is assigned.
Click the interactive video thumbnail, then select the Monitor option to open the monitor page.
On the monitor page, you can see each learner’s status in the interactive video and their responses to the questions. There are three statuses in the interactive video:
- Not started: Learners have not launched the interactive video yet.
- In progress: Learners have started taking the interactive video but have not completed it yet.
-
Completed: Learners have answered all the required questions and reached the end of the video. The time spent in the interactive video and the completion date will also be displayed, along with the completion status.
To view the analytics for the interactive video, click the Interactive Video Analytics option at the top left of the monitor page.
At the top of the analytics, you will see the correct and incorrect rates for each question in the interactive video.
Scroll down in the analytics, and you will see two pie charts.
- On the left is the distribution of learners’ scores; only learners who have completed the interactive video and received their final scores will be counted in this chart.
- On the right side, the distribution of completion status provides the instructor with a clear view of learners who have completed the interactive video, those in progress, and those who have not started.
The diagrams are downloadable for further use. Right-click it and select Save Image As to save it to your device. The downloaded diagrams are PNG files with a transparent background. If the cursor hovers over the diagram when downloading the diagram, the highlighted area will also be visible in the downloaded image.
Repeat the steps in this section with other versions of the training video to compare their completion and retention rates.
Plan and role requirements for examining and comparing the retention rates of interactive videos
All instructors and administrators with an Educational license (Instructor or Organization) can create interactive videos for training and assign them to learners.
Instructors and administrators can examine learners’submissions for the class they teach or for the class in which they are added as a co-teacher or teaching assistant.
