Create and edit classes
After logging into the Multimedia Creation environment, Select Classes from the left sidebar to view the existing classes.
Select Add new class on the top right, and select Create class to create a new class.
Enter the title of the class, and you may also enter the section/period and grade for the class. If you want to customize the cover photo for this class, please click the Upload button under the thumbnail to upload an image as the cover photo. After adjusting all the settings, click Create to create the new class.
If you want to edit the information or the cover photo for the existing classes, please click the triple dots button on the class, and select Edit to edit the class.
Add people to the class through a shared link
Click on the class that you want to add people to.
Switch to the People tab. You can view the students and teachers in this class.
Click Invite people and select Share invite link or code.
For the users that have not yet joined the organization, select the role on the top and use the following two options to invite them to the class. They will also claim licenses from your account when they join. If your admins turn off the ability for teachers to invite users from outside the organization, these options will not be available to you. Please have your admins roster the users first before inviting them to the class, or ask your admins to adjust the Classes permissions settings for the Teacher role. - Download and share the QR code.
- Copy and share the invite link.
For the users who are already part of the license, please share the invite code with them to join the class.
If you are reusing the class and need a new join code and link, click the Reset code option to generate a new join code, link, and QR code for this class. Please note that the old join cod, link, and QR code will no longer work once reset.
Add people to the class from Google Classroom
Click on the class that you want to add people to.
Switch to the People tab. You can view the students and teachers that are in this class.
Click Invite people and select Import Google Classroom.
Click Sign in with Google if you haven't signed in yet.
Select the Google account that you want to use and allow the required permissions for WeVideo to access your Google Classroom.
Select the class you want to import with the dropdown menu and click Import.
Preview the class as students
You can preview the created class from the student's perspective to ensure all the items are set up properly.
Select the class you want to preview from the Classes page.
Click the eye icon next to the class title to enter the student preview mode.
You are now previewing the class as a student. Please note that your change will not be saved. Click Exit Student View to end the preview.
Find classes with the filter and keywords
You can apply the filter or search for the class with keywords. There are three ways to look for the classes.
1. Adjust the order of how the classes display: Click the Order button on the top right of the window and select one of the orders from the list:
- Most recently created
- Least recently created
- A-Z
- Z-A
2. Filter by the Creator: Shows the classes based on their creator. There are three options:
- Created by anyone: All the classes will be displayed.
- Created by me: Only the classes you created will be displayed.
- Created by others: Only the classes not created by you will be displayed.
3. Search by keywords: Search for the classes that match the entered keywords.
Clean up the classes that are no longer in use
After the class is finished, teachers can clean up the classes page to remove the classes. There are two options:
Option 1: Archive the class
The archived classes can be found in the Archived tab on the Classes page. All the class data is stored in the class and can be accessed by the teacher if the class is restored. To archive the class, click the triple dots button next to the class and select Archive.
Click the Archived tab on the top of the Classes page to view the archived classes.
To restore the archived class, click the triple dots button next to the class and select Restore.
Option 2: Delete the class
You can also permanently delete the class from your account. Please note that once the class is deleted, all the data is deleted with the class. You and the learners can no longer access the deleted class, and the deleted class can not be restored. To delete the class, click the triple dots button next to it and select Delete.
