Once a Google Admin user has installed the WeVideo add-on for their organization, instructors and learners can log into Google Classroom and select the WeVideo add-on to create, submit, and review assignments. Follow the step-by-step instructions below.

Create assignments with the WeVideo Google Classroom add-on
Create an assignment in Google Classroom, then click the WeVideo add-on from the Add-ons section. If you haven’t logged into your WeVideo account yet, you will be prompted to Sign in with Google. Follow the instructions to sign in.
After logging into WeVideo, add your activity’s title and instructions, then click Create to add the activity to the assignment in Google Classroom.
Review submissions and grade assignments in Google Classroom
Launch the assignment from the class in Google Classroom, switch to the Student Work section, and click on the learners’ submissions to view their submitted videos.
Review the submitted videos and use the grading feature in Google Classroom to provide grades or comments to learners.
Complete assignments with the WeVideo Google Classroom add-on
Launch the assignment from Google Classroom, and click the WeVideo activity from the Your Work section to launch the WeVideo's video editor. If you haven’t logged into your WeVideo account yet, you will be prompted to Sign in with Google. Please follow the instructions to sign in.
Read through the activity instructions and click Jump In to start creating your video. Refer to these articles for tips on using the video editor.
After editing your video, click the Turn In button to submit your video.
Review your submission at any time by launching the assignment from Google Classroom and clicking the WeVideo add-on in the Your Work section.
Plan and permission requirements
To use the WeVideo Google Classroom add-on, users must be licensed under a plan that supports WeVideo Classroom.
If you receive the error message (”You don’t have access to WeVideo classroom”) when using the add-on, please contact your school admin to ensure your school has the correct license and you have been added to the license in WeVideo.
Supported devices and browsers
The WeVideo add-on is not compatible with mobile devices. Learners will need to use a desktop device to create their videos, and teachers will need to use a desktop device to review and grade the videos.
Setup and integration requirements
To use the WeVideo Google Classroom add-on as an instructor or a learner, the following requirements must be met:
- Your school district must be using Google Workspace for Education Plus or the Teaching and Learning Upgrade. For more information, please refer to Google’s Classroom Help resource: Install and allowlist Classroom add-ons.
- Your school district’s Google Admin user must have logged in and installed the WeVideo add-on for your organization. Access and install the WeVideo add-on from Google Workspace Marketplace here.
