Learn how teachers can create interactive videos in WeVideo using external video hosts by following the instructions in this article.

Access external video hosts in WeVideo
WeVideo currently supports the following external video hosts:
The Zoom integration can be enabled from the user's side by connecting their Zoom and WeVideo accounts. The other external video hosts must be enabled in WeVideo by the admin before users can use them.
Panopto
Select Panopto from the video host options.
Click the Click to Sign in and play video button or the Login As Different User button to sign in.
Enter the User ID and password in the pop-up window to log in.
To select videos from your Panopto account, switch to the Choose tab, select videos from the library, then click Select Video to import them into the interactive video editor.
You can also upload videos to Panopto directly from WeVideo by switching to the Upload tab and dragging and dropping the file into the Upload section.
Recording to Panopto is also available in WeVideo. Switch to the Record tab and choose to record from the browser or with the Panopto app.
Kaltura
Select Kaltura after launching the interactive video editor.
Verify the Kaltura ID is correct. If the ID is incorrect, click the pen icon next to the ID, update it with the correct one, then click the Green checkmark to submit the change. The ID change needs to be reviewed and approved by WeVideo. Once approved, you can access your Kaltura content by following the steps in this section.
Search for the video using keywords, then select it to import into the interactive video editor.
Mediasite
Select Mediasite after launching the interactive video editor.
Verify the Mediasite ID is correct. If the ID is incorrect, click the pen icon next to the ID, update it with the correct one, then click the Green checkmark to submit the change. The ID change needs to be reviewed and approved by WeVideo. Once approved, you can access your Mediasite content by following the steps in this section.
Search for the video using keywords, then select the video from the search bar to import into the interactive video editor.
YuJa
Select YuJa after launching the interactive video editor.
Verify the YuJa ID is correct. If the ID is incorrect, click the pen icon next to the ID, update it with the correct one, then click the Green checkmark to submit the change. The ID change needs to be reviewed and approved by WeVideo. Once approved, you can access your YuJa content by following the steps in this section.
Search for the video using keywords, then select the video to import into the interactive video editor.
Canvas Studio
Select Canvas Studio after launching the interactive video editor.
If this is the first time you use Canvas Studio within WeVideo, please click the Connect to Canvas Studio button to connect your Canvas Studio account with WeVideo.
Enter the Canvas Studio account name and password, or use the Sign in with Canvas option to log in to Canvas Studio.
Verify the account is correct, and click Authorize.
The Canvas Studio account is now connected with your WeVideo account, and you can start importing videos from Canvas Studio to WeVideo.
Click the folder to expand it and view the videos inside, or search keywords to find them.
Switch to the Videos tab to view which videos are accessible in Canvas Studio.
Wistia
Select the Wistia option from the video sources list.
Search for videos by keywords, select the video, and click Done to import it into the interactive video editor.
Zoom
Users need to connect their Zoom account with their WeVideo account first for the Zoom option to appear in the Video Sources list in the interactive video editor.
After connecting your Zoom and WeVideo accounts, select the Zoom option from the list to view your Zoom cloud recording. Select the recording, then click Done to import it into the interactive video.
Edit the imported videos
Switch to the Video Segments tab in the interactive video editor.
Click the pen icon on the video segments you want to edit, then select the Edit Video Segment option.
Select the Current Video option to edit the video segments. If you want to swap this video for another, select the video host options below to import a new video to replace the current one.
Adjust the accessibility settings
On the Accessibility tab, you can view and upload captions for the video segment. The captions from the video host will be listed in the Captions section, and you can use the upload section above to upload caption files if needed.
Switch to the Audio Descriptions to upload audio description files to this video segment.
Trim and crop the video
Switch to the Trim & Crop tab and use the green and red flags to trim the video.
If you would like to add internal crops to the video, move the white dot on the timeline to the timestamp you want to crop to, click Advanced, then click the Add Internal Crop button.
Adjust the start time and end time for the internal crop, or use the flags on the timeline to adjust the crop. You can repeat these steps to add more internal crops if needed.
Add interactions to the videos
After adding videos to the interactive video editor, users can switch to the Interactions tab to add interactions, apply templates, or generate them with AI in WeVideo.
Adjust interactive video settings and assign it to learners
Adjust interactive video settings
Switch to the Review tab to edit the title, add learning objectives, or upload a new thumbnail. You can also adjust the tags, playback options, or privacy settings for the interactive video. Please see this article for more information on adjusting interactive video settings.
Assign interactive videos to learners
From the Interactive Videos page, click the triple-dot actions button or the thumbnail, then select the Assign option.
Adjust the Assign Preferences to assign the interactive video to your learners, people outside of your organization, or anonymous participants. There are four options:
- Assign to learners: For users with student or teacher accounts.
- Assign to professional learning: This option is deprecated. For professional learning, please select the "Assign for learners" option and enroll the participants in the class as learners.
- Assign to people outside the organization: Anyone can receive this assignment with a link. Users must enter their first and last names before starting the video. This is available for users with a district plan.
- Assign to anonymous participants: Anyone can access it with a link. No user information is required. This is available for users with a district plan.
Note: Users cannot log in through the embedded player for security reasons. The embed code option is only available for assignments assigned through the Assign to people outside the organization or Assign to anonymous participants options.
Set the start and end dates for when the assignment appears in class and when it expires. The end date is the assignment's due date, and it will be blocked after that. If no end date is assigned, the video remains available.
Select the classes to assign the video to, then click Assign.
Copy the link and share it with learners, or copy the embed code and embed it on the designated website. Click Done to close the window.
To find the embed code at any point, click on the thumbnail image on the Interactive Videos page and select Share link.
