With Interactivity, the newest member of the WeVideo product family, instructors can transform the projects they created in WeVideo into an active learning experience by adding interactivity in a few simple steps. Interactive videos created in interactivity can be assigned to learners in classes created in WeVideo Multimedia Creation or assigned through the LMS integration, and instructors can easily monitor learners’ progress by visiting the monitor page in Interactivity.
Please see more information about Wevideo Interactivity in this video:

Add interactions to the interactive video
There are two options for instructors to add interactions to the interactive video.
- Apply a pre-formatted template
- Create your own interactions
Option 1: Apply template
Select Apply Template from the lower left of the screen.
Find a template that best meets your needs, and click Apply to add it to the interactive video.
Click Apply again to confirm adding this template to the interactive video.
The template has been added, and you can click on each interaction to edit the content.
Option 2: Create your own interactions
Drag the play head to the timestamp you want to add the interaction and click the Add An Interaction At… button.
Select the interaction type you want to add. Please see the description for each interaction below.
- Multiple Choice: Learners need to choose one correct answer from a list of answer options. This interaction can only have one correct answer and will be auto-graded.
- Check All: Learners need to choose all the correct answers from a list of answer options. This interaction will be auto-graded.
- Free Response: Learners answer the question by submitting their responses in text, image, and/or audio format. This interaction requires instructors to grade it manually, and please see the monitor section below for more information about the grading.
- Fill-in-the-blank: Present learners with a phrase that is missing one or more words. Questions can have multiple blanks and multiple correct answers. Please press Enter/Return to separate each correct answer. Responses are not case-sensitive but spelling sensitive. Learners can receive partial credit for their answers, and this interaction will be auto-graded.
- Poll: Learners select one or more options from a list of answer options. There is no right or wrong answer to this interaction, and the interaction is non-graded by default. If points are added to this interaction, all learners who answer it will receive full credit for this interaction.
- Discussion: Learners can post comments and reply to their peer’s posts in real-time. Instructors can monitor and delete the post if needed. This interaction is non-graded by default. If points are added, all learners who contribute to the discussion will receive full credit for this interaction.
- Pause: Pause the video playback and display the information entered by the instructor.
- Web Embed: Embed a website in the video player that allows learners to explore the website without leaving the video.
- PDF file: Upload the PDF file from the device or import the PDF file with the link to the interactive video as an interaction. Learners can use the built-in tool to add comments, highlight texts, and draw on the PDF file. These annotations will also be exportable for learners when they download the PDF file from the interactive video. This interaction is not graded by default, but you can change the point value if desired.
- My interactions: You can find and reuse all the interactions you have created in this section.
After selecting the interaction type to add, enter the information for the interaction and click Save to create the interaction.
(Optional) To adjust the timing of the interaction, update the time code in the Interaction Time section above. If you want to make this interaction durational, click the triple dots in the Interaction Time section and select Add end time to set the end time for this interaction. This interaction will be displayed to learners between the set start and end times.
(Optional) By default, the interaction will be placed on the left sidebar. To adjust the placement, click the Placement on the top right and select a new placement for the interaction. You can further fine-tune the placement by expanding the Advanced settings.
Repeat the steps in this section to add more interaction to this interactive video.

Assign Interactive videos to your WeVideo Classes
The classes created in WeVideo Multimedia Creation will automatically be added to Interactivity, and you can view those classes by visiting the Classes page from the sidebar.
To assign the interactive video to a class, click the thumbnail image of the desired interactive video and select Assign.
If you would like to assign multiple interactive videos at once, select all the desired interactive videos by clicking the checkbox in front of them and clicking Assign on the top.
Select the Assign preferences for the interactive video. There are four different options:
- Assign to students: The user with a student account can access this assignment.
- Assign to professional learning: The user with a teacher account can access this assignment. Please see this article for more information on using Interactivity for professional learning. This option is available for the users with the district plan.
- Assign to people outside the organization: Anyone can access this assignment with the link. Users will be asked to enter their first and last names before starting the interactive video. This option is available for the users with the district plan.
- Assign to anonymous participants: Anyone can access this assignment with the link. No user information is required to start the interactive video. This option is available for the users with the district plan.
Set the start and end dates for this assignment. The assignment will appear in the class after the start date, and the assignment link will not work until the start date. The end date is the due date for the assignment, and the assignment will be blocked after the end date. If no end date is assigned, the interactive video will always be available to learners.
Select the classes you want to assign this interactive video to and click Assign on the top right of the window.
Copy the link and share it with learners, or copy the embed code and embed it on the desired website.
Since we do not allow users to log in through the embedded player due to the security procedure, the embed code option is only available for the assignment assigned through the Assign to people outside the organization or the Assign to anonymous participants options.
Click Done to close the window and go back to Interactivity.
If you need to acquire the link or embed code again in the future, please click on the thumbnail image and select Share Link to view the link and embed code.
Monitor learners’ progress
Teachers can access the monitor page from the Interactivity space or the Multimedia Creation space.
