After connecting their Zoom and WeVideo accounts, users can access their Zoom recordings in WeVideo to edit them with the WeVideo editor and add interactions to create interactive videos.

Pre-approve WeVideo for users in your organization

By default, users with the multi-user Zoom license need approval from their Zoom administrators to add apps to their Zoom accounts. After following the steps in the next section to connect the Zoom and WeVideo accounts, please inform the Zoom administrators to approve the request in Zoom.

Optionally, Zoom administrators can pre-approve the WeVideo app for all users on their license, so users can use the WeVideo app right away after connecting their WeVideo accounts, without waiting for approval. To pre-approve WeVideo apps in Zoom as administrators, please follow the instructions from Zoom.

Connect Zoom with WeVideo

The Zoom integration is enabled at the account level, not the license level. Each instructor who wishes to use Zoom as their video host can follow the instructions in this section to connect their Zoom and WeVideo accounts.

Log in to WeVideo, switch to the Multimedia Creation space, and select the Account Settings option from the user icon at the top right of the window.

Expand the Connected Apps section, then click the Connect button next to Zoom.

Log in to a Zoom account and agree to the terms of use to connect the Zoom and WeVideo accounts.

Edit the Zoom recordings in WeVideo

Click the Create button on the Multimedia Creation page to create a new project.

Select the Uploads tab from the left sidebar menu, and open the Zoom folder to view the Zoom recordings.

Drag and drop the recording to the timeline to add it to the project. Once added to the project, users can edit it with the WeVideo editor.

Add interaction to the Zoom recording

The interactive videos page in the Multimedia Creation space

From Multimedia Creation, go to the Interactive Videos page, then click the Create Interactive Video button to launch the interactive video editor.

The interactive videos page in the Interactivity space

Alternatively, from Interactivity, go to the Interactive Videos page, then click the Create New Interactive Video button to launch the interactive video editor.

The zoom option in the video sources list.

Select the Zoom option from the list to view your Zoom cloud recording. After selecting the recording, click Done to import it to the interactive video.

The video segments tab in the interactive video editor.

If you would like to import more videos to this interactive video, switch to the Video Segments tab in the editor and click the Add Video button to import another video. The videos in the interactive video do not need to be from the same source.

After adding the videos, users can add questions, pauses, discussions, PDFs, and web embeds to create an interactive video for a Zoom recording.

Disconnect Zoom from WeVideo

If you want to disconnect your Zoom account from WeVideo, please follow the steps in this section.

Log in to WeVideo, switch to the Multimedia Creation space, and select the Account Settings option from the user icon at the top right of the window.

Expand the Connected Apps section, then click the Disconnect button next to Zoom to disconnect your Zoom account from WeVideo.

Limitations on using Zoom integration in WeVideo

The Zoom folder on the Uploads page in Multimedia Creation will appear only if the "Auto-import Zoom Videos" feature is enabled for the license. Please contact your school administrator to work with WeVideo to enable the auto-import feature for the license. Only recordings created after the auto-import feature is enabled will appear in the folder. For recordings created before the feature was enabled, please download the recordings from Zoom and upload them to WeVideo manually.

Plan and role requirements for using Zoom Integration in WeVideo

The Zoom integration is available for the multi-user license, including the Teams, Enterprise, Instructor, and Organization licenses. Interactivity is only available to users with the Educational (Instructor and Organization) license.
