The following information can be found on the assignment details page for the multimedia assignment.

  1. Assignment information: The title, due date, project type, and participation type of this assignment.
  2. Assignment Description: The information entered by the instructor when creating the assignment.
  3. Assignment Resources: Sample videos, media, and starting blocks that are added to the assignment by the instructor.
  4. Student work: A list of learners and their status in this assignment. Instructors can click on the learner’s name to view their submissions and progress.

View learner works

Click the Turned In assignment from the Student Work section to view the learner’s submission. If click on the assignment with the In Progress status, the instructor will be brought to the project editor to view the learner’s current progress.

On the viewing page, instructors can click the play button to review the submitted video and click other learners’ names on the side to view their submissions.

Instructors can take the following actions when viewing the submissions with learners’ submitted assignments.

  • Return: Return the assignment to learners to continue working on it. If the instructor returns the assignment, learners will need to resubmit the assignment after editing it.
  • Details: The detailed information about the submitted assignments.
  • Subtitles: View and edit the subtitles of the submitted video. If no subtitle is attached to the submissions, instructors can also generate subtitles for the submissions. Please see this article for more information about the subtitles generator in WeVideo.
  • Download: download the submitted assignments. If the download option is not available, it might be turned off by the account administrators. Please reach out to the administrators to enable the download option.
  • Share: Share the submitted assignment through the share link or connected destinations.

View and edit assignment teams

Instructors can view and edit the team from the assignment details page if the assignment is set to a group assignment.

In the progress section, assignment teams are listed with their status in the assignment. Instructors can click on the team name to view the submitted assignments.

To view the teams, switch to the Teams tab, and expand the team to view the team members.

To move learners to a different team, click the three-dot button and select Move to a different team.

To edit the team name, click on the current team name and enter a new name for it.

ClassFeed

If ClassFeed is enabled for the assignment, instructors can view learners' submissions by visiting the ClassFeed tab in the assignment.

In the ClassFeed, instructors can view all submissions for this assignment from learners. Learners’ names will be listed alongside their submissions, and instructors can use the search tool to locate a specific submission. If the assignment is a group assignment, the team name will be listed alongside the submissions instead.

Click on the submission to view it.

When viewing the submissions, instructors can take the following actions with learners’ submitted assignments.

  • Return: Return the assignment to learners to continue working on it. If the assignment is returned by the instructor, learners will need to resubmit the assignment after editing it.
  • Interactivity: Create an interactive video with the submitted video. Please see this article for more information about interactive videos in WeVideo Interactivity.
If the download option is not available, it might be disabled by the account administrators. Please reach out to the administrators to enable the download option.
  • Share: Share the submitted assignment through the share link or connected destinations.

If the instructor configures the assignment so that submissions are hidden from the ClassFeed until approved, the submitted videos will not be displayed in ClassFeed until the instructor reviews and approves them. Please scroll down to the Student Work section on the Assignment Details page to view the submitted videos, and after reviewing the submissions, use the drop-down menu to change the visibility to "Visible" so they can be shown in the ClassFeed.

While all submissions are shown in the Student Work section on the Assignment Details page, only those marked as Visible will display in the ClassFeed. Instructors can switch to the ClassFeed tab from the Assignment Details page to review which submissions are visible to all learners, and use the ClassFeed tab as an accurate representation of what learners will see from their perspective.

Comments

When viewing the submissions, instructors can leave comments, and learners can review and reply to the comments. If the ClassFeed feature is also enabled for the assignment, other learners will be able to leave comments on their peers’ submissions as well.

If commenting is enabled with the ClassFeed, instructors can leave comments through the ClassFeed section. Select the ClassFeed tab at the top to switch to the ClassFeed page.

Click on the submissions in the ClassFeed to review them and leave comments on them in the comment section.

The instructor’s comments left in ClassFeed submissions can be set to either Private or Public. Public comments are visible to all learners, and everyone in the class can reply to them. Private comments are only visible to the instructor and the submission owner. If the owner replies to a private comment, their reply will also be set to private and will not be visible to other learners.

If comment moderation is enabled, all learners’ comments will be set to Pending status and hidden from other learners until reviewed by the instructor. Instructors can review the pending comments and change their status to visible or hidden. Comments in the visible status will be displayed to all learners, and all users in the class can reply to them. If the comments are set to hidden status, they will not be displayed to any learners. Please note that the approval process is a one-time action and can not be adjusted once the status is set.

If needed, instructors can always delete comments from ClassFeed. If the deleted comments have no replies, they will be removed completely. If there are replies to the deleted comments, replies will remain visible to others, and the deleted comments will be replaced with a placeholder indicating that this comment was removed.

Please see this article for more information about ClassFeed and commenting in WeVideo Multimedia Creation assignments.
