Instructors can export the interactive video report from the monitor page in WeVideo. The report documents learners’ attempts, showing how many times learners retook the interactive video.

Before you start

Export the interactive video report from the monitor page

The classes page in WeVideo multimedia Creation space

The interactive video assigned in WeVideo classes can be monitored by navigating to the class in WeVideo. From the Multimedia Creation space, navigate to the Classes page and click on the class to launch it.

The interactive assignment is highlighted in the class.

Alternatively, instructors can also switch to the Interactivity space, navigate to the Classes page, and click on the class to launch it.

The exported analytics from the interactive video.

In the exported report, instructors can find the following information for the interactive video.

  1. Start time: The date and time when the learner launches the interactive video.
  2. Time spent: The total time the learner spent in the interactive video.
  3. Max video timestamp: The latest timestamp the learner reached in the interactive video. This data shows when the learner exits the interactive video, indicating a potential drop-off point.
  4. Completion time: The date and time when the learner finished the interactive video.
  5. The learner’s submission for each interaction.
  6. The date and time the learner submits answers for each interaction.
  7. The time spent on each interaction.
The status column in the exported analytics

If the learner has retaken the interactive video, their previous attempts will be listed in Archived status, and their most recent attempt will be listed as Completed. Instructors can count the number of archived attempts a learner has to see how many times they have retaken the interactive video.

Limitations on examining learners’ retakes in interactive videos

The data in the exported reports shows learners' retake history for retaking the entire interactive video. If learners only retry some interactions within the video but do not retake the entire interactive video, those retry attempts will not be shown in the report.

To see how many times learners have retaken the interactive video, please only enable the “Retake interactive video upon completion” option in the interactive video settings, and do not enable the “Allow more than one attempt” option under the interaction advanced settings. This way, learners can only retake the entire interactive video to earn new grades, which will then be recorded in the interactive video reports.

Role and plan requirements for accessing the interactive video assignment analytic report.

All instructors and administrators with an Educational license (Instructor or Organization) can create interactive videos and assign them to learners.

Instructors and administrators can examine learners' submissions and download the data export from the interactive video in the classes they teach, or from the class in which they are added as a co-teacher or teaching assistant.
