Instructors can assign interactive content to their learners through the D2L integration, and learners can complete the assignment directly in D2L with their grades synced to the gradebook. Please see the sections below for more information on assigning interactive content to learners through D2L.
Assign content to learners through D2L
There are three options to assign interactive videos and playlists to learners through D2L:
Option 1: Add existing
Navigate to the D2L course you want to assign the content to and select Content.
Click Add Existing and find the WeVideo Interactivity integration from the list. The name of the tool is set by your LMS administrators, so please contact them if you need help determining which tool to use.
Click Set Link on the Manage Link page to launch into Interactivity.
Click the D2L icon next to the interactive video you want to assign and select Set Link. If you do not have interactive videos in your account yet, please follow the steps in this article to create interactive videos first.
If you want to assign playlists to D2L, click the Playlists tab on the sidebar to switch to the playlists page, and click the D2L icon next to the playlist you want to assign.
Select the learner experience to be asynchronous self-paced or synchronous live broadcast, and click Set Link to link the content to the course.
The content is now linked to this course.
Important note: The grade item will appear in the D2L gradebook after the first learner launches the assignment from the course. Please do not edit the activity and add a grade item to it, which will cause duplication in the grade book. |
Option 2: Insert stuff
Navigate to the D2L course you want to assign the content to and select Content.
Select Create New and create a new assignment or page.
Enter the title for the assignment or page, and click the Insert Stuff button on the rich text editor.

Monitor learners’ progress
For the content linked through the Add existing workflow, navigate to the content from the course and click Monitor on the Manage Link page to launch the Monitor page.
For content linked through the Insert Stuff or Insert Quicklink workflow, open the page and click the hyperlink to open the Manage Link page in a new tab.
If the content is linked to an assignment, open the assignment, select Edit Assignment, click on the hyperlink, and open it in a new tab.
Click Monitor to launch the monitor page.
On the monitor page, you can find learners’ names, scores, status, and responses to each question in this assignment. Please see this article for more information about the monitor page.
Sync grades to D2L gradebook
If the interactive video or playlist only contains auto-graded interactions (multiple choice, check-all-that-apply, fill-in-the-blank), learners' grades will be synced to the D2L gradebook automatically once they complete the assignment.
If there are manually graded free response interactions in the interactive videos or you have edited learners’ points on the Monitor page, please follow the steps below to manually sync the most up-to-date grades to D2L.
Launch the monitor page for the assignment and assign points to learners if needed.
Click the Sync Grades button on the top left of the window to send the updated grades to D2L.
