How do I monitor students' progress in Interactivity?

After students complete their assigned interactive videos or playlists, teachers can monitor their progress through the monitor page in Interactivity. Please see more information about the monitor page.

Access the monitor page

Teachers can access the monitor page from the Interactivity space, the Multimedia Creation space, or LMS when assigned through the LTI integration.

From the Interactivity space

Click on the thumbnail image of the desired interactive video or the playlist icon of the playlist you want to monitor and select Monitor.

Click the Monitor button behind the class you would like to monitor.

From the Multimedia Creation space

From the Multimedia Creation space, find the class to which the interactive video is assigned, and click Review Progress to launch the monitor page.

From the LMS assignment

Click the Monitor button on the gray window to launch the monitor page.

Monitor page for interactive videos

You can find the following information on the interactive video monitor page.

  1. Learner name: Learners’ names in the system
  2. Scores: The scores the learner receives from this assignment.
  3. Status: Learner’s status in this assignment. There are three statuses:
    1. Completed: The learner answered all the required questions and reached the end of the interactive video. 
    2. In progress: The learner has started the interactive video but has not yet answered all the required questions or reached the end of it. 
    3. Not started: The learner has not started the interactive video.
  4. Response to each question: Learners’ responses to each question. The correct answer will be marked green, the incorrect answer will be red, and the non-graded answer will be gray.

On the monitor page, teachers can perform the following actions:

View analytics

Click the Interactive Video Analytics button on the top left of the window to open the interactive video analytics.

The analytics chart shows learners’ performance in each interaction, average scores, and completed status.

Filter learners by status

Click the filter and select a status from the drop-down menu to view the data from learners with the selected status.

Show/hide points

Toggle on and off whether to show the points value of the interactions on the monitor page.

Search

Search for the learner by entering their name.

Refresh

Refresh the monitor page to view the most updated data.

Export

Export the interaction data to a CSV file.

The exported CSV file includes the following information:

  • Interactive video ID
  • Interactive video title
  • Learner ID
  • Learner name
  • Learner email
  • Class name
  • Points learner earned
  • Points available in the interactive video
  • Learner score
  • Status
  • Start time
  • Time spent on the interactive video
  • Max timestamp learner reached in the video
  • Completion time
  • Answers to the questions in the interactive video

Reset learner attempt

After resetting the learner attempt, the learner’s status will become Non Started, and all the submitted answers will be archived. Learners can then retake the interactive video and submit new answers to gain new scores from it. Teachers can reset attempts for a single learner or multiple learners at once.

Reset attempt for a single learner

Click the learner’s name and select Reset Learner Attempt.

Reset attempts for multiple learners

Select the learners by clicking the checkbox next to their names and click Reset Interactive Video Attempts.

Monitor page for playlists

On the monitor page for the playlist, you can find the following information.

  1. Learner name: Learners’ names in the system
  2. Playlist score: The scores the learner receives from this assignment.
  3. Time Spent: The time the learner spent in this playlist.
  4. Status: Learner’s status in this assignment. There are three statuses:
    1. Completed: The learner completed all the items in the playlist. 
    2. In progress: The learner starts the playlist but has not yet completed all its items. 
    3. Not started: The learner has not started the playlist.
  5. Items in the playlist: Each item in the playlist will have a column on the playlist’s monitor page. If the item is an interactive video, the scores will be displayed in the column once the learner completes it. If the item is a file, web embed, or text, it will be marked as Completed when the learner completes it.

On the monitor page, teachers can perform the following actions:

Show points/percentage

Switch between showing the interactive video's points value or percentage value on the monitor page.

Search

Search for the learner by entering their name.

Refresh

Refresh the monitor page to view the most updated data.

View the monitor page for the interactive video in the playlist

Click the interactive video title on the top to view the monitor page of the interactive video in the playlist.

Reset learner attempt

After resetting the learner attempt, the learner’s status will become Not Started, and all the submitted answers will be archived. Learners can then retake the playlist and submit new answers to gain new scores from the playlist.

Click the learner’s name and select Reset Learner Attempt.
