Before you start
- The Interactivity Blackboard integration is only available to some users. If the integration tool is not visible from the external tool list, contact your LMS admins.
- If interactive videos or playlists are assigned directly to Interactivity Classes and then added to the LMS course via links or embed codes, they are not connected to the LMS course. Grades are not sent to the LMS gradebook, and learners need to log in to their WeVideo accounts manually rather than accessing the interactive content directly within the LMS.
Assign Interactivity content to Blackboard
Log in to a Blackboard instructor account and find a class where Interactivity content is assigned.
Select Content, click the + icon, select Content Market, and find Interactivity integration from the list.
Instructors can also select Build Content from the Content page and find the Interactivity integration from the list.
Click the Set Link button on the Manage Link page to launch into Interactivity.
Click the Blackboard icon next to the interactive video and select Link to assign to the Blackboard class. If there is no interactive video in the account yet, learn how to create one.
If playlists are available in the license, instructors can select Playlists from the sidebar. Select the Blackboard icon and click Link to assign the Blackboard class.
Select the learner experience, either asynchronous self-paced or synchronous live broadcast.
(Optional) Set the due date for the interactive video. Learners can not access the assignment after the due date. If no date is entered here, there will be no due date for this assignment.
Click Set Link to complete the process. The interactive content is now linked. Instructors can repeat the steps as needed to add more content to the course.
Adjust points for the linked content
Switch to the Student Preview in Blackboard, then launch the linked content to connect it to the gradebook.
Exit the Student Preview, click the three dots, and select Edit.
Update available points for the assignment. Points available in Blackboard default to the values set in Interactivity. If points are updated in Blackboard, learners’ grades automatically convert from the points earned in Interactivity to points available in Blackboard.
Example: If a learner receives 5 out of 10 points in Interactivity and the assignment is set to 100 points in Blackboard, the learner’s score converts to 50 out of 100 in Blackboard.
Update the due date for the assignment
Navigate to the assignment in the LMS and click the Monitor button to launch the WeVideo in a new tab.
Click the Interactive Videos tab at the top to view the class's interactive videos.
Click the thumbnail of the interactive video and select the Edit Assignment option.
Update the assignment's due date, then click Update.
Monitor learner grades from Blackboard
Click the interactive assignment from Blackboard and click the Monitor button on the Manage Link page.
Find learners’ names, scores, status, and responses to each question in this assignment. See this article for more on monitoring learner progress.
Sync grades to Blackboard gradebook
If the interactive videos or playlists only contain auto-graded interactions (multiple choice, check-all, fill-in-the-blank), learners’ grades are synced to the Blackboard gradebook automatically upon assignment completion.
If there are manually graded free-response interactions in the videos or instructors have edited learners’ points on the monitor page, manually sync the most updated grades to Blackboard.
Launch the monitor page for the assignment and assign points to learners.
Click Sync All Grades to send the updated grades to Blackboard.
Integration limitations
Grade items appear in Blackboard’s gradebook once a learner launches the assignment. Instructors can also launch the assignment through Student Preview to have the grade item appear in the gradebook.
