Record your screen or webcam by clicking the dropdown icon next to the Create button and then selecting Recording. Grant access to the camera and microphone, then select what to record — Dual, Screen, or Webcam. Record, then access recordings from the Uploads page.
Record screen or webcam
Click the dropdown icon next to the Create button and select Recording.
Grant microphone and camera access if necessary, then select what to record:
- Dual: Record videos from the webcam and screen simultaneously. After recording, these videos are saved as two videos.
- Screen: Record a video from the selected tab, window, or screen.
- Webcam: Record yourself using the webcam from your device.
If screen recording, select the tab, window, or screen you want to record, then click Share. To record audio from the tab, toggle on the Share tab audio option. WeVideo will start recording after a 3-second countdown.
After the recording is complete, click Stop sharing on the browser or navigate back to the WeVideo tab and click Stop recording.
Preview the recording and click Save or Record again. Recording again deletes the previous file.
Find the recorded file on the Uploads page.
Download, share, or use recordings in other projects. Select the triple-dot button to select:
- Open: Preview the uploaded media.
- Open in new tab: Preview media in a new tab.
- Download: Download uploaded media to the device.
- Rename: Update the uploaded media’s name.
- Move to: Move the uploaded media into a folder.
- Delete: Delete uploaded media from the account.
- Change owner: Transfer ownership of the uploaded media.
To use recordings in another project, open a new project, select Uploads, find the recording, and drag it to the timeline.
Recording limitations
- For the first time record with WeVideo, grant WeVideo access to the webcam, microphone, and screen. See this article for any difficulties connecting the camera and microphone.
