It's quick and easy to capture a screen or webcam recording in WeVideo. Simply select Create new in the Home tab and choose Recording to open the screen and webcam recording tools in the editor.
Screen recording
1. Click Record in the editor or use the Recording shortcut from the Home tab.
2. Select Screen in the "Record from" pop-up window.
3. Allow access to your microphone and camera.
4. Select either your internal microphone or an external device as an audio source.
5. Choose between recording your entire screen, an application window, or a specific Chrome tab. After choosing which screen you'd like to record, click Share to begin recording.
6. When you're ready to stop recording, click Stop sharing at the bottom of your screen. If you don't see this pop-up, you should be able to find it by right-clicking the Chrome icon to view all open windows.
If you're using a Chromebook, you'll need to navigate to your notifications tab and select Stop to stop sharing your screen.
7. When you're done recording your screen, click Save to save your recording as a media file. You can choose Record again if you want to discard your recording and start over. If you don't want to save your recording, click Cancel to close the recording tool.
Webcam recording
1. Click Record in the editor or use the Recording shortcut from the Home tab.
2. Select Webcam in the "Record from" pop-up window.
3. Allow access to your microphone and camera.
4. Select the sources for your camera and microphone, then click Start recording to begin the webcam recording.
5. To stop capturing from your webcam, click Stop to end the recording.
6. When you're done recording, click Save to save your recording as a media file. You can choose Record again if you want to discard your recording and start over. If you don't want to save your recording, click Cancel to close the recording tool.
Screen & webcam recording
When you select the Screen & webcam option, both a screen and webcam recording will be captured simultaneously. Two media files will be saved to your account, one for each type of recording.
After completing the screen and webcam recording, both media files should appear in the timeline and the picture-in-picture effect will automatically be applied.
