Before you start
- If you are in a multi-user license (Teams, Enterprise, Instructor, or Organization), before you can enable two-factor authentication for your account, license admins must update role permissions to allow users to configure the security setting. This setting is configured by role; therefore, admins can enable two-factor authentication for specific roles rather than for all users under the license. Please see the modify role permissions article for more information.
- For creator license users, please follow the instructions below to set up two-factor authentication for your account.
- Download and set up the authentication app on your mobile device.
Set up two-factor authentication for your account
Click the user icon on the top right of the Multimedia Creation space and select the Account Settings option.
Expand the Privacy category.
Scroll down to the Security section and enable the Two-factor authentication option.
Open the authentication app on your mobile device, scan the QR code on the screen, enter the generated code, and click the Verify and Enable button to complete setup.
Log in with two-factor authentication
Log in to your WeVideo account from the WeVideo Sign in page.
You will be redirected to the two-factor authentication page. Enter the code generated by your authentication app, then click Verify. Once authenticated, you will have access to your WeVideo account.
Turn off two-factor authentication for your account
Click the user icon on the top right of the Multimedia Creation space and select the Account Settings option.
Expand the Privacy category.
Scroll down to the Security section and disable the Two-factor authentication option by unselecting the checkbox next to it.
Open the authentication app on your mobile device, enter the generated code, and click Confirm Disable to turn off the two-factor authentication.
Limitations of two-factor authentication for WeVideo accounts
Two-factor authentication is required when users access WeVideo from the sign-in page. If they access WeVideo through the LMS integration, they will be logged into their account directly and will not be asked to enter the authentication code.
