How do I share analytics with co-teachers without giving them my login?

Instructors can add other instructors from the same license to a WeVideo class as co-teachers or teaching assistants, allowing them to view the class data and learners’ progress.

Before you start

Add instructors to the class as co-teachers or teaching assistants

The classes page in the Interactivity space

Navigate to the Interactivity space and switch to the Classes tab.

Click on the class where you want to add co-teachers or teaching assistants.

Click the Collaborate button at the top left of the class page.

Enter the instructors' email addresses, then click the pen icon to select the role they should be added to. Multiple instructors can be added at once.

(Optional) The class owner can also toggle whether to adjust the interactive video/playlist permissions to align with the Class permission. For example, if the newly added instructor has co-editor access to an interactive video in the class, and is added to the class as the teaching assistant. In that case, when this option is on, the newly added instructor's permission for the interactive video will change from co-editor to facilitator.

Click Share Access to add them to the class.

How do the instructors access the data as co-teachers or teaching assistants?

Log in to an instructor account, and navigate to the Classes tab in the Interactivity space.

The class they are added as co-teachers or teaching assistants will be listed in the Classes tab. Click one to launch it.

Switch to the gradebook tab to view learners’ performance in the class, and click the interactive video title at the top to open the detail monitor page.

What’s the difference between a co-teacher and a teaching assistant?

  • Co-teacher: The co-teacher can edit, assign, and monitor the class content, but cannot add other instructors as collaborators to the class.
  • Teaching assistant: The teaching assistant can assign and monitor class content, but cannot edit it or add collaborators.

Can I update their role in the class?

Yes, the class owner can always update or remove other co-teachers and teaching assistants from the class. Navigate to the class in Interactivity, and click the Collaborate button.

Use the drop-down menu next to the user’s account to update their role, make them the new owner of the class, or remove them from the class.

Limitations for sharing analytics with co-teachers and teaching assistants

The class will be accessible from the Multimedia Creation and Interactivity spaces for both the class owner and co-teachers. However, teaching assistants can only access the class through the Interactivity space.
