Create a pop-up quiz within a video
Navigate to the Interactive Videos page by clicking the Interactive Videos tab on the left sidebar menu.
Click the Create Interactive Video button to launch the interactive video editor.
Select one of the video host options on the page to find and import the video:
- Video History: Select the video that has been added to other interactive videos before.
- Input URL: Paste the video URL to import it. The URL must be from a supported video host.
- Upload & Record: Upload a video from the device, or record a new video with the webcam or a screen recorder.
- YouTube/Vimeo: Search and select a video from YouTube or Vimeo. These two options are available to all users with Interactivity access.
- WeVideo: Select the video from your WeVideo Exports library to use in an interactive video.
- Boclips: Search and select a video from Boclips. This option is only available for Educational license users with Boclips integration.
- Other private video hosts: WeVideo also supports Kaitura, Panopto, Mediasite, Canvas Studio, and Yuja, allowing teachers and instructors to import videos from these platforms. The video host options will appear in the list after the license integration is enabled. Please see this article for more information about enabling external video hosts in WeVideo Interactivity.
After selecting the video, click Done to import it to the interactive video editor.
(Optional) If you want to add more video to this interactive video, click the Video Segments tab at the top to switch back to the video segments page, and click the Add Video button to add more videos.
Switch to the Interactions tab, move the playhead to the desired timestamp, and click the + Create New Interaction button. Teachers and instructors can also click the Open Template button to view and add the premade template interactions or click the Generate Interactions button to access the AI Interactions tool.
Select the interaction type from the drop-down menu, then enter the interaction content.
(Optional) By default, interactions will appear in the left sidebar when learners watch the interactive video. To make the interactions overlay the video, expand the Placement option and select a placement that overlays the video section.
Click Save to save the interaction to the interactive video. Repeat the steps above to add more interactions to the interactive video if needed.
During interactive video creation, teachers and instructors can click the Preview button at the top to view the interactive video and the Save button to save the current progress.
After saving the interactive video, you will see the Assign page for it. Select the assign preferences, start and due dates, and the classes to assign this interactive video, then click Assign. If you are not ready to assign the interactive video, click Cancel at the top to close the page; all progress will be saved.
Plan requirements for creating a pop-up quiz with a video in WeVideo
Teachers, instructors, and administrators with a paid Education license (Instructor and Organization) can access the Interactive Videos page in WeVideo and can use the interactive video editor to create pop-up quizzes with videos for their learners.
The available video hosts may vary depending on the license configuration. If the desired video hosts are not visible, please consult your school administrator to verify whether they are encompassed within the license, or consider moving your video to the supported hosts listed in the interactive video editor.
