Instructors can create multimedia assignments in Canvas by finding the relevant course, creating a new assignment, and publishing it to their learners.

Before you start

Create an assignment in Canvas

The classes in Canvas

Log in to Canvas and navigate to the course where the assignment will be linked to.


The create assignment button in Canvas

Create a new assignment in the Canvas course.


 

The title and descriptions for the new assignment

Enter the title and details of the assignment.
 

The submissions type for the Canvas assignment

Change the submission type to Online and select the Website URL option as the online entry option.


 

The due date for the Canvas assignment

Enter the assignment's due date and adjust other settings as needed.


The save and publish button for the assignment

Publish the assignment to learners when ready.

Learners: Find and complete the assignment in Canvas

Once the instructor has created the assignment, learners can navigate to it in Canvas and click the WeVideo Multimedia Creation integration in the sidebar to complete it.

Limitations for creating Multimedia Creation assignments in Canvas

The Multimedia Creation assignments workflow only works with the WeVideo LTI 1.1 integration. If you are using the WeVideo Multimedia Creation LTI 1.3 integration or the Interactivity integration, please create a class in WeVideo and assign the multimedia creation assignments from it.
