How to use WeVideo for professional learning in the LMS?

Assign professional learning content through the LMS

Add participants to the class in the LMS

Create a class in the LMS for professional learning, and add participants as students/learners since they will be taking the course as learners in the professional learning.

Create assignments for professional learning

Create assignments in the professional learning class and adjust the following settings to allow learners to submit their work in WeVideo to the assignment as their submissions.

For Canvas assignments:

• Submission Type: Online
• Online Entry Options: Website URL
• Due date: Must be a valid future date
• Available from: Must be a valid date
• Until: Must be a valid future date

For Schoology Assignments:

• Due date: Must be a valid future date
• Options: Enable submission

Complete the professional learning assignment in the LMS

Learners can access their WeVideo account by selecting the WeVideo option from the LMS. After launching the integration, they will be logged into their account automatically.

Select Projects on the sidebar, create a new project, and start creating the video for the assignment.

Once complete, click Export on the top right of the editor and select the assignment from the drop-down to submit the video to the assignment.

Assign professional learning through WeVideo Classes (use LMS as an SSO option)

Create classes for professional learning 

Select the WeVideo integration from any LMS classes to launch and access WeVideo.

Select the Classes tab on the sidebar, and click the Add New Class button.

Enter the title and information for the class and click Create to complete the process.

Enroll participants in the class

Open the created class, switch to the People tab, and select the Share Invite Link or Code option.

Ensure that the invite type is set to Students since the participants will join the class as learners in the professional learning. The Teachers type is intended for adding co-teachers to the class. Then, copy the invite code to share with participants.

Access professional learning classes as participants

Select the WeVideo integration from any LMS classes to launch and access WeVideo.

Select the Classes tab on the sidebar, switch to the Enrolled tab, and select Join Class.

Enter the invite code and click Join to join the class.

After joining the professional learning class, participants can view the available assignments in the class and start working on them as regular learners. Please see this article for more information about completing assignments in WeVideo.
