Select the class from the Classes page in the Multimedia Creation space.

Click on the View Assignment button on the To Do tab in the class to view the assignment details.

On the assignment details page, learners can find the following information for the assignment:

  • Assignment information: The title, due date, project type, and participation type of the assignment.
  • Assignment description: The information provided by the instructor regarding the assignment.
  • Sample video: The sample video provided by the instructor offers learners inspiration for what the completed assignment should look like.

After viewing the assignment information, click Jump In to launch the video editor and start working on the assignment.

Complete the multimedia assignment in WeVideo

Click Jump in on the assignment details page to start working on the assignment.

Learners can start working on the assignment with the multimedia editor. If this is a group project, learners can collaborate simultaneously, and their account icon will be listed at the top. Please see the articles below for more information about editing projects in WeVideo.

Edit the project in WeVideo

Once the project is completed and ready for submission, click Turn In to finalize the project. If this is a group project, only one group member needs to click the Turn In button, and the group project will be submitted for all members in the group.

Leave and resume progress on the assignment

WeVideo editor saves users' progress in real time. Therefore, learners can exit the editor at any time by clicking the Close button on the top right of the editor.

To return to the assignment and resume the progress, navigate to the class and click the View Assignment button of the in-progress assignment on the To Do page.

Click the Continue button on the assignment details page to launch the editor and resume the progress.

Access the submitted media

Learners can access their submitted media from two places:

From the assignment

Select the class from the Classes page in the Multimedia Creation space.

Switch to the Turned In tab to view all the turned-in assignments, and click on the assignment to review the submitted work.

From the Exports page:

Select the Exports option from the sidebar menu to navigate to the Exports page.

The submitted media can be found on the Exports page. Their titles might differ from the assignment title. For Multimedia Creation submissions, the title will be in the “copy of *assignment ID*” format.

To rename the exports, click the three-dot button and select the Rename option.

View the submissions from other learners

Select the assignment from the To Do or Turned In tab in the class.

Switch to the ClassFeed tab to access the ClassFeed section of the assignment.

The submissions from learners in the class will be shown in the ClassFeed. Click on them to view the submissions. If commenting is enabled, you can leave comments for other learners by typing your comment in the comment section.

You can also reply to others’ comments by clicking the Reply button and entering your reply.

If the instructor has enabled comment moderation, your comments will not be displayed to others until the instructor approves them.

If needed, you can edit or delete your comments by clicking the three-dot button next to the comment. If there are no replies to the deleted comment, the comment will be removed from the ClassFeed. If there are replies to the deleted comments, the replies will remain visible to other users, and the deleted comments will be replaced with a placeholder indicating that this comment was removed.

If comment moderation is enabled, the edited comment will be placed back in pending approval and will not be visible to others until the instructor approves it.

You can also record videos as comments in ClassFeed. switch to the Video tab in a submission in ClassFeed, and click the Record Video Comment button.

If you haven’t granted WeVideo camera and microphone permissions, please allow WeVideo to access your device's camera and microphone to create recordings.

Click Start to start the recording.

After completing the recording, click Stop to stop the recording. Please note that every video comment is limited to 5 minutes.

Preview the recording and click Save to save the video comment to ClassFeed. If you would like to re-record, click the Record Again button to start over.

If the instructors have enabled comment moderation, the comment will be hidden from other learners until approved by the instructors.

If the ClassFeed tab is not available in the assignment, it is due to one of the following reasons.

  • The instructors did not enable the ClassFeed for this assignment.
  • The instructors set the ClassFeed to be only visible after submitting the assignment.

Please contact your class instructor to know if ClassFeed is available for the assignment and if you need to submit your work first before accessing ClassFeed.

Unsubmit the assignment

If learners want to edit the submitted assignment, they need to unsubmit the assignment first. After navigating to the class, switch to the Turned In page, click the three-dot button, and click Unsubmit.

Select the Yes, Unsubmit option on the pop-up window to confirm unsubmitting the assignment.

After the assignment is unsubmitted, it will move to the To Do tab in the class, allowing learners to continue working on it. If this is a group assignment, it will be unsubmitted for all group members to work on it together.

Once editing is complete, learners need to click Turn In in the editor to resubmit the assignment for review.
