How do I assign Interactivity content to Moodle?

In this article:

Instructors can assign interactive content to their learners through the Moodle integration, and learners can complete the assignment directly in Moodle with their grades synced to the gradebook. Please see more information about assigning interactive content through Moodle in this article.

Assign content to learners through Moodle

Log in to Moodle and navigate to a class, and switch to Edit Mode with the toggle on the top right of the window

Create a new section if there is no section in the class yet, and click Add an Activity or Resource

Switch to the All tab, and select WeVideo Interactivity from the list.

Click the Select Content button.

Click Set Link on the pop-up manage link page.

Click the Moodle icon next to the interactive video and click Link to assign it to the Moodle class. If there is no interactive video in the account yet, please follow the steps in this article to create the first interactive video.

If playlists are available in the license, instructors can select Playlists from the sidebar, click the Moodle icon next to the playlist, and click Link to assign it to the Moodle class. If there is no playlist in the account yet, please follow the steps in this article to create the playlist first.

Select the learner experience to be an asynchronous self-paced or synchronous live broadcast, and click Set Link to link the content to the course.

The title of the linked interactive video will automatically be used as the activity name. Instructors can also update the name and add descriptions in Moodle if needed.

(Optional) If the assignment should be graded and synced with the Moodle gradebook, scroll down to the Grade section, toggle on the Allow WeVideo Interactivity to add grades in the gradebook option, and enter the grade information for the assignment. The points in Moodle do not need to match the points in the interactive video. When learners complete the interactive video, WeVideo will save their grades in percentage format and pass them to Moodle, which will then be converted to the points set in the activity. For example, if a learner gets 2 out of 5 points from an interactive video, and the activity is set to 10 points in Moodle, the final grade for this learner in Moodle will be converted to 4 points.

(Optional) If the assignment needs a due date, scroll down to the Restrict Access section and add a date restriction to the activity. Please note that once the interactive video is assigned to Moodle, the due date is controlled by the Moodle activity.

After adjusting the settings for the activity, click Save and Return to Course to save the activity or Save and Display to save and publish the activity.

Monitor learners’ progress

Click the activity from the Moodle course and click the Monitor button on the Manage Link page.

On the monitor page, you can find learners’ names, scores, status, and responses to each question in this assignment. Please see this article for more information about the monitor page.

Sync grades to Moodle gradebook

If the interactive videos or playlists only contain auto-graded interactions (multiple choice, check-all-that-apply, fill-in-the-blank), learners' grades will be synced to the Moodle gradebook automatically once they complete the assignment.

If there are manually graded free response interactions in the interactive videos or instructors have edited learners’ points on the monitor page, please follow the steps below to manually sync the most updated grades to Moodle.

Launch the monitor page for the assignment and assign points to learners by clicking on their responses if needed.

Click the Sync Grades button on the top left of the window to send the updated grades to Moodle.
