Import Boclips videos into the interactive video editor
Users can search for Boclips videos on the Video Sources page in the Multimedia Creation and Interactivity spaces or directly in the interactive video editor.
From the Video Sources page
Switch to the Video Sources page from the Multimedia Creation or Interactivity space.
On the All videos tab, you can view all Boclips videos and use the search tool to find the videos you want to use.
You can also switch to the Alignments tab to view Boclips videos aligned with the academic standards. Click the standard to view the videos within it.
After locating the video, click it to open the video details page and view its information.
On the video details page, you can find the following information:
- Description
- Learning outcomes
- Assessment questions
- Similar videos
To preview the video, click the Play button on the video player. When previewing, you can use the CC button on the player to toggle the closed captions of the video.
Click the Add Interactivity button, then select an option from the drop-down menu to add it to the interactive video editor.
- Open in new interactive video: Create a new interactive video project and import this Boclips video to it.
- Add to existing interactive video: Import this Boclips video to an existing interactive video project.
Alternatively, you can click the Assign button to assign this Boclips video to learners without adding any interactions.
From the interactive video editor
After launching the interactive video editor, select the Boclips option as the video host.
Search for the videos using keywords, and click the one you want to use.
Click the Play button on the video player to preview the video. When previewing, you can use the CC button on the player to toggle the closed captions of the video.
Scroll down to read the video description. If the video meets your needs, click Done to import it to the interactive video.
If you want to add more videos to this interactive video project, repeat the steps in this section to import more videos.
Edit the imported Boclip videos
Switch to the Video Segments tab in the interactive video editor.
Click the pen icon on the video segments you want to edit, then select the Edit Video Segment option.
Select the Current Video option to edit the video segments. If you want to swap this video with other videos, select the video host options below to import a new video to replace the current one.
Adjust the accessibility settings
On the Accessibility tab, you can view and upload captions for the video segment. The captions from Boclips will be listed in the Boclips captions section, and you can use the upload section above to upload caption files if needed.
Switch to the Audio Descriptions to upload audio description files to this video segment.
Trim and crop the video
Switch to the Trim & Crop tab and use the green and red flags to trim the video.
If you would like to add internal crops to the video, move the white dot on the timeline to the timestamp you want to crop to, click Advanced, then click the Add Internal Crop button.
Adjust the start time and end time for the internal crop, or use the flags on the timeline to adjust the crop. You can repeat these steps to add more internal crops if needed.
Add interactions to the videos
After adding videos to the interactive video editor, users can switch to the Interactions tab to add interactions, apply templates, or generate them with AI in WeVideo.
Adjust interactive video settings and preview the interactive video
Select Review to edit the title, add learning objectives, or upload a new thumbnail.
Expand the Tags section to add tags, target audience, and subjects for better organization, and expand the Playback options to adjust playback settings. Users can also expand the Privacy section to adjust privacy settings. This doesn’t affect whether learners can access the video, but it does affect whether other instructors can find it in the Premade Content library. Click Save Changes to save the edits.
Assign interactive videos to learners
Find the created interactive video, click the triple-dot actions button or its thumbnail, then select the Assign option.
Adjust the Assign Preferences and set start and end dates for the assignment. Assignments are not available to learners until the start date and are locked after the end date. Select classes and click Assign.
Assignment plan and permission requirements
Assigned video access depends on the following user account permissions.
- Assign to learners: For users with student or teacher accounts.
- Assign to professional learning: This option is deprecated. For professional learning, please select the "Assign to learners" option and enroll the participants in the class as learners.
- Assign to people outside the organization: Anyone can take this assignment with a link. Users must enter their first and last names before starting the video. This is available for users with a district plan.
- Assign to anonymous participants: Anyone can access it with a link. No user information is required. This is available for users with a district plan.
Note: Users cannot log in through the embedded player for security reasons. The embed code option is only available for assignments assigned through the Assign to people outside the organization or Assign to anonymous participants options.
