How do I delete my account?

To delete your WeVideo account, go to your account settings by clicking on your profile icon. Then go to Manage personal data and select Permanently delete this account. To complete the deletion process, click Close my account. If you wish to have all identifiable personal data deleted, you may check the box next to Exercise Right to be Forgotten.

Before deleting your account

Before deleting your WeVideo account, make sure to cancel any active subscriptions. Additionally, you may want to download a data archive. Check out our Offboarding Process prior to deleting your account.

Steps for deleting your WeVideo account

To delete your WeVideo account:

The account settings panel in WeVideo.

Go to your account settings by clicking on your profile icon. 

 

The manage personal data section on the account settings page.

Click and expand the Manage personal data section.

 

The delete this account option in the manage personal data section.

Select Permanently delete this account.

 

The close account window with the option to delete personal identifiable data.

Opt whether or not to Exercise Right to be Forgotten (delete personal identifiable data) and click Close my account.

Things to keep in mind when deleting your account

  • Once you delete your WeVideo account, you'll no longer be able to access any of your imported media, edits, projects, or finished exports. Once your account is deleted, there's no way to restore or access your deleted data. 
  • If you currently have an active subscription, you'll first need to cancel your plan before you can delete your account. 
  • If you're using the WeVideo mobile app, you'll need to navigate to the WeVideo website on a desktop browser to delete your account. 
  • If you're using an organizational plan, contact your organization's Admin to request deletion of your account. 
  • Before deleting your account, you may want to download a data archive.
