Install WeVideo Multimedia Creation LTI 1.1 integration

Important note: The integration tool installed through the LTI 1.1 workflow supports assignment and submission flow. Please see the following articles for instructors' and learners' workflow.

Contact the WeVideo Support Team (support@wevideo.com) and provide the email associated with your WeVideo license so that we can provide the keys required to add the WeVideo app in Schoology.

Log in to your Schoology environment with a Schoology admin account, navigate to this page, and click the Install LTI 1.1 App button.

Now the WeVideo Multimedia Creation LTI 1.1 integration is added to the course, users can select the WeVideo tool from the sidebar to launch and access their WeVideo accounts.

Install WeVideo Multimedia Creation LTI 1.3 integration

Important note: The integration tool installed through the LTI 1.3 workflow DOES NOT support the assignment and submission workflow. The integration added through this workflow is used only as a portal to access the user’s WeVideo account. If you wish to use WeVideo with the assignment and submission workflow, please follow the steps in the LTI 1.1 section of this article to install the WeVideo Multimedia Creation LTI 1.1 version.

Log in to Schoology as an admin, click the App icon at the top, and select App Center.

Select My Developer Apps.

Click the +Add App button.

Complete the form with the following information, then click Submit to create the app:

  • App Name: Name the app as you wish; this will be displayed to users when they access the tool.
  • Description: Provide a brief description of the tool.
  • Category: Select a category for the tool.
  • Available for: Only people in my school.
  • Upload an image for the tool (Optional)
  • Type of App: LTI 1.3
  • Can be installed for: All options except the Course Materials Selection and Rich Text Editor options under the "Can be installed for?" section
  • LTI Advantage Extensions: Select the following options:
    • Names and Roles Services
  • JWKS URL: https://www.wevideo.com/.well-known/jwks
  • Domain: https://www.wevideo.com/app
  • OIDC: https://www.wevideo.com/api/5/lti/multimedia/auth
  • Redirect URL: https://www.wevideo.com/api/5/lti/multimedia/login
  • Click the check box next to "This application meets the Schoology Terms of Use."

Important note:

Do not select the Deep Linking and Assignment and Grade Services options under the "LTI Advantage Extensions" section, since WeVideo Multimedia Creation integration currently does not support deep linking and grades passback. Please also ensure the Course Materials Selection and Rich Text Editor options under the "Can be installed for?" section are not selected, since those two options will require deep linking to function.

Launch WeVideo

Now that WeVideo is available in the course menu, the "Launch App" icon in the WeVideo tab will function as a single sign-on (SSO). Any users in your Schoology instance who access this WeVideo tab will automatically be assigned a license in your WeVideo organization upon launching the app. Students and teachers will be able to utilize the WeVideo interface within the pop-up window that is launched.

Note: Any user with an existing WeVideo account can link their existing WeVideo account to their LMS account by following the steps in this article. When linking the existing account, please generate a new LTI code from the account.
