General Migration Questions

What is happening to PlayPosit?

PlayPosit is integrating its interactive video features into WeVideo, a powerful video creation platform. This means your free PlayPosit account is being migrated to WeVideo.

 

Why is this migration happening?

We're migrating PlayPosit to provide you with an enhanced and more sustainable interactive video experience. This move to a new environment, built on WeVideo's robust infrastructure, brings several key benefits accessible to all migrated users:

  • Improved Performance & Reliability: You'll benefit from enhanced stability, faster performance, and overall greater reliability in your day-to-day use due to the modern technical foundation.
  • Foundation for Future Innovation: This updated platform is essential for us to continue innovating and improving PlayPosit efficiently, ensuring it remains a cutting-edge tool.
  • Video Creation Suite: The migration provides the option to access WeVideo's comprehensive suite of video creation and editing tools, offering significantly expanded possibilities for those who choose to leverage it.

 

Will there be a free version of PlayPosit?

No, we will no longer offer a free version of PlayPosit.

 

When will the migration happen?

PlayPosit accounts are being migrated to WeVideo in phases. The migration of Pro accounts concluded in March, 2025. Free accounts are being migrated during April and May 2025. You will receive email notifications before and on your specific migration date.

 

Where do I log in after the migration?

After the migration, you (and your students) will log in at www.wevideo.com using your existing PlayPosit username and password.

 

Account and Access

What will happen to my free PlayPosit account, and what are my options?

Your free PlayPosit account will be migrated to WeVideo, and you'll receive a free trial of WeVideo Interactivity (which includes all the PlayPosit features) until September 30, 2025. After September 30, 2025, you have three options:

  • Upgrade to a Paid WeVideo Plan: This is the only way to continue using interactive video features after the trial. We're offering a special discount if you upgrade before June 1, 2025.
  • Consider a WeVideo Site License: If you're part of a school or organization, a site license may be the most cost-effective option. Contact your administrator or our sales team.
  • Transition to a Free WeVideo Account: This option allows you to use WeVideo for basic video editing, but does not include interactive video features.

 

Is there a discount for upgrading to a paid WeVideo plan?

Yes! We're offering a special 20% discount if you upgrade before June 1, 2025. Plus, if you purchase by June 1st, your billing won't start until September 2025. See details here.

Content and Data

Where do I log in to access my account?

You will now log into www.wevideo.com to access your account. Your login username and password will remain the same. 

 

What happens to all of my content?

All of your interactive videos (Bulbs), along with folders, classes, and videos, will all be migrated over to the new platform. All interactive videos that were assigned to classes will also migrate over. 

 

Where is all of my learner data?

Learner data (including account details, roster list, and grades for each class) will be migrated to the new platform. Depending on the school's size, this process might take from a few hours to a couple of days. If you do not want learners' data from PlayPosit to be migrated to the new platform, please contact your Customer Success Manager before the migration begins to discuss opting out of this service.

 

What will happen to my PlayPosit account?

You will still be able to log in to your PlayPosit account; however, once the migration has taken place, you will be limited in the functionality available in PlayPosit. You will not be able to create anything new, and you will only be able to access old data.

 

What happens to my learners?

Once your account has been migrated, all learner accounts associated with your account will also migrate. Usernames and passwords will remain the same. Learners will log into www.wevideo.com and will be redirected there if they try to log into www.playposit.com

 

What happens if I have bulbs that are currently assigned to learners?

For bulbs and playlists assigned with the "For Learners," "For Professional Learning," or "For Any Login" options in PlayPosit, their links are migrated, and no extra step is needed on the instructor's side. The old link and embed code will still work and will redirect learners to WVI. 

For bulbs and playlists assigned with "Do Not Require Login" or the "Do Not Require Learner Name" option, the link and embed code will not be migrated. Please reassign the bulbs and playlists in WeVideo Interactivity to generate new links and embed codes.

 

What happens to my students' data (responses, scores, etc.)?

Student data will be automatically migrated to WeVideo. Depending on the school's size, this process might take from a few hours to a couple of days. If you do not want learners' data from PlayPosit to be migrated to the new platform, please contact your Customer Success Manager before the migration begins to discuss opting out of this service.

WeVideo Features

What new features will I have access to in WeVideo?

You'll gain access to WeVideo's full multimedia editor (with features like green screen, motion titles, and a stock media library), AI-powered enhancements (like automatic question generation), and the ability to organize your videos into playlists.
