Users can find and utilize templates created by WeVideo, other users in the instance, or templates created themselves to start a new project and speed up their content creation process. Users can also share their templates with others in their instance or reuse those templates in the future.
How Do I Access Templates?
Select the Templates tab on the left side.
Browse through the templates or select a category that will meet your needs.
To view the templates you or others in your instance have created, click My Templates on the top of the page.
Simply click on the template you want to use, and it will open as a new project. You can then start editing it as other video projects. The new project will also be added to the Projects page in the Classroom.
How Do I Create My Own Template?
You can create a new template from the Templates tab or convert the existing project into a template.
Create a New Template
Switch to My Templates on the Templates page, and click the plus icon to create a new template.
Add the media into the template the same way as creating a new project ( i.e. putting content into the respective areas of the timeline). Once complete editing, select Finish on the top right.
Enter a title for the template, and select the visibility option for it:
- The Draft option will make this template only visible to you and can not be used by other users.
- The Live option will make this template visible to others in your instance, and they can create a new project based on this template.
Click Finish to complete the setting.
Convert the Existing Project Into a Template
Find the project you want to convert into a template and select Edit.
(Optional) Once the project is converted into a template, it will no longer be available on the Projects page. You can create a copy of the project first before converting it into a template. To create a copy of the project, click the main menu icon on the top left, and select Make a copy.
Click the main menu icon on the top left, and select Convert to template.
Enter a title for the template, and select the visibility option for it:
- The Draft option will make this template only visible to you and can not be used by other users.
- The Live option will make this template visible to others in your instance, and they can create a new project based on this template.
Click Convert to start converting this project into a template.
Click Continue to complete the process.
How to Edit a Template
