Can I return an assignment to students with feedback?

Yes, instructors can return video assignments to their students with feedback directly in WeVideo. 

Follow the step-by-step guide below to learn how to return assignments with comments, along with other ways to provide feedback to learners in WeVideo.

Before you start

The instructions below explain how to return submitted video assignments with feedback. 

To give feedback on a video before the learner submits the assignment or to reset a learner’s interactive video attempts, jump down to the Other ways to give feedback and return assignments section below.

Find the student assignment

The classes page in the WeVideo Multimedia Creation space

From the Multimedia Creation space, click Classes and then click on the class with the students whose assignments you’d like to return.

Click on any assignment to open the assignment details page.


The turned-in work in the Student Work section in the assignment.

Click Turned In on any row to open a view of all submitted assignments.

Return with feedback

The return option for the submitted student's work.

From the left column, click on the student whose assignment you’d like to return. Then, in the menu beneath the video, click Return.

Type your feedback for the student, then click Yes, return.

 

The returned assignment will be marked as "Returned" on the assignment details page

On the Assignment Details page, the returned assignment will now show the Returned status.

The notification informs the learner that the assignment has been returned by the instructor.

When an instructor returns an assignment, the learner will receive an immediate notification in WeVideo that the assignment was returned.

 

The continue button on the assignment details page for learners to edit their work.

Clicking the notification will bring the student to the assignment details page, where they can click Continue to edit the video and resubmit the assignment.

 

The instructor's feedback appears in the project editor.

To view the instructor’s feedback (and reply as needed), learners can click the small gray circle at the beginning of the video timeline in the multimedia editor. 

Other ways to give feedback and return assignments

Give feedback before submission

To give feedback on a video while learners are still working on it, instructors can add comments directly in the multimedia editor. This is possible both asynchronously and in real time.
