Add animated motion titles in WeVideo to create engaging text graphics. Learn how to choose a design, add it to the timeline, and customize fonts, colors, and positioning.
Motion titles are pre-made animated text clips that you can use to create meaningful videos with engaging graphic elements. To use a motion title, simply select your preferred design and customize it to suit your needs.
Before you start
Before you add motion titles, you need to either access an existing project or create a new one.
How do I add motion titles?
To add motion titles to your project:
Choose your design: First, navigate to the Text tab and select the motion title you like best. Motion titles can be found under the Titles section. You can select a motion title to view it in the preview window before using it.
Add it to the timeline: Drag and drop the desired title from the Text tab into your Timeline to add a motion title. Make sure you place your title on a Text track.
How do I customize motion title text and animation settings?
To customize a motion title:
Double-click the title to open the clip editor or select your title and click Edit.
In the Text tab, you can customize your title, text content, alignment, spacing, font style, font size, positioning, and style palette.
To customize animation settings:
Double-click the title to open the clip editor or select your title and click Edit.
Select the animation tab. Here you can select the start and end positions of your title by dragging the scale or manually moving your text in the preview.
Why does my motion title look different after copying to the web or exporting?
Please note that some motion titles are only supported on the web or mobile and are incompatible when copying a project over. See here for a full list of unsupported features on WeVideo mobile. Incompatible motion titles will retain the text that you have input, but the motion asset itself will be swapped to static text.
The preview window in WeVideo often uses lower-resolution proxy files to ensure smooth editing. During export, WeVideo renders the full-resolution motion graphics, which can lead to slight changes in font rendering, positioning, or animation timing.
What’s the difference between motion titles and static text?
In Wevideo, motion titles are animated, graphic templates that add movement to text, while static text is a still, stationary text element.
Plan requirements for motion titles
All WeVideo subscription plans have access to motion titles; however, premium motion titles and templates are available in the Professional and Business plans.
Supported devices and browsers for motion titles
Please note that some motion titles are only supported on the web or mobile and are incompatible when copying a project over. These will result in static text in their place when copying a project over.
