To animate a video or image in WeVideo, double-click the clip or select the clip and click Edit. In the Clip Editor, navigate to the Animation tab. Here, you can adjust the scale and position of your clip to choose the starting and ending point of the animation. Click Done to save your changes.
Before You Start
- Make sure your clip or image is already added to the Timeline.
- Confirm you are using the editor (not just preview mode).
- Ensure your media file has fully uploaded and processed.
- Use high-resolution media for smoother animation results.
- Avoid extremely short clip durations if applying noticeable movement.
Animate a video or image
Start by selecting the clip you want to add an animation to and clicking Edit or double-clicking the clip to open the Clip Editor.
In the Clip Editor, navigate to the Animation tab.
Adjust the scale and position of your clip to choose the starting point of the animation. No modifications are necessary if you wish the animation to start at the original frame.
Switch to the End tab to adjust the position and scale for the ending point of this clip.
Click Done to save your animation.
Create an animated slideshow
Add the slides to the timeline, then select all the slides by holding the left mouse key and dragging over them.
Right-click on the selected slides and select the Adjust Duration option.
In the pop-up, choose how many seconds or frames your clips should appear for and adjust whether to apply the animation effect.
Once you select Done, the animation is applied, and your slideshow is ready.
Animation elements you can’t edit
- Animation only transitions between the defined Start and End positions — intermediate keyframes cannot be added.
- Animation applies only to scale and position; it does not modify color, opacity, or effects.
- Extremely short clip durations may make animation appear abrupt.
- Animation does not override timeline trimming or clip splitting.
- Animation settings do not affect export quality — only motion positioning.
