How do I record a voiceover?

Use this step-by-step guide to record a voiceover in WeVideo. Discover key features, tips, and best practices to edit video projects with ease.

In this article:

Quick steps

Open the Create drop-down menu and choose Podcast to launch the recorder in the editor, then allow microphone access.

Click Record to begin. (Mute video to silence existing audio, or leave it unmuted to include it.)

When finished, click Stop, then Save to create the media file.

Your recording will appear as a new voiceover track next to the blue playhead on the Timeline. (Select Record to retry or Cancel to exit.)

Note: There is a 10-minute limit for individual voiceover recordings.

Record audio

Hit Record. Mute video while recording silences existing audio. If deselected, existing audio will exist in the voiceover playback. 

Click Stop when you are done recording. 

Save your work

Click Save to generate a media file. Select Record again to re-record or click Cancel to close the recording tool. The saved file will present as a new voiceover track next to the blue playhead on the Timeline.
