If the audio clip is mismatched with the video clip, causing an audio sync issue, users can adjust the clip alignment on the timeline to resolve it. Please see the article for more information and tips on adjusting clip alignment in the WeVideo video editor.

Adjust the alignment of the clips

To adjust the alignment of the clip, click the clip you want to move, hold down the left mouse button, and drag it on the timeline to place it at the proper timestamp.

There are some useful features in the WeVideo editor that can help you adjust the clip placement:

  • Snap Clips: If this feature is enabled, when a clip is moved close to the start or end of another clip, it will automatically snap to that clip's start or end timestamp.

The snap clips option in the project settings

Depending on how you want to adjust the clips’ placements, you can turn this feature on or off by clicking the Main Menu button at the top of the editor, selecting Preferences, and then selecting the Snap Clips option.

  • Zoom in and out on the timeline: To fine-tune clip placement, zoom in to better adjust it.

The zoom in and out option for the timeline

Click the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons, or use the slider to adjust the zoom level for the timeline. You can also use the keyboard shortcuts to zoom in and out. Press the ‘SHIFT’ and ‘+’ keys to zoom in, and press the ‘SHIFT’ and ‘-’ keys to zoom out.

  • Group selection: You can select multiple clips as a group to move them together. This can help align multiple clips at once or prevent them from misaligning.

Select multiple clips in a group

Hold down the left mouse button and drag over the clips you want to select on the timeline to group-select them, or hold down the CTRL key (on Windows) or the Command key (on Mac), then click the clips to select them. To unselect the group, click any blank spot on the timeline to cancel the grouping of the clips.
