Add text
Tap any video to open the editor and then add text:
- Tap Text in the menu and then +A to add new text.
- Tap any text style (static or dynamic) to add it to your video.
- Tap the newly added text to further customize its design.
For static text, the following elements can be customized:
- Font
- Color
- Stroke
- Shadow
- Alignment
You can also use pinch and zoom or rotation gestures to adjust your text’s size or position.
Dynamic text allows less design customization than static text; tap on the text to view the available options. Pinch and zoom to resize.
Add effects
From the video editor:
- Tap Effect in the menu.
- Tap any effect (such as bokeh lighting or decorative framing) to add it to your video.
Add audio
Tap Music to insert audio from WeVideo’s stock library or your device. Select an audio file, then tap Add to add it to the timeline as background music.
To modify the volume, split or delete the clip, or adjust the fade, tap the audio clip in the timeline to make adjustments.
To record a voiceover, tap Voiceover and then tap the red circle to record. Tap the Pause icon if you need a break while recording or tap Stop when you’re finished. After you finish, tap the checkmark to add your recording to the timeline.
Adjust your edits and finish
You can further adjust video, audio, or text by tapping the relevant clip on the timeline. Then:
- Hold and drag the clip to reposition it along the timeline.
- Hold and drag the playhead at either end of the clip to trim it.
- Use the menu above the timeline to view all available customization options. (Options vary based on type of clip; for example, video clips offer advanced edits like green screen, transitions, and more.)
To finish editing your video, tap the share icon in the upper-right corner. Choose your preferred resolution and tap Export. Once the video is done exporting, you can share it, save it to your device, upload it to WeVideo, or share it on Instagram/Instagram Reels.
