How do I integrate WeVideo Interactivity to Blackboard?

Note: 

  • This article is intended for new WeVideo users who need to install the Interactivity integration with their Blackboard environment. Existing PlayPosit users migrating to WeVideo Interactivity do not need to install this Interactivity LMS integration, as their initial PlayPosit LMS setup will be transferred to the WeVideo Interactivity LMS integration from the backend. Please contact your Customer Success Manager for more details about migrating your PlayPosit integration to WeVideo Interactivity.
  • The LMS integration is only available to some users. If you are interested in the integration, please contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss enabling it for your school or organization.
  • This article is for the Blackboard admins to install the integration tool in the environment. For the instructor workflow, please see the instructions here.

In this article:

Install the integration tool in Blackboard

Log in to Blackboard as an administrator and select Admin from the sidebar.

Select the LTI Tool Providers option under the Integrations section.

Switch to Register LTI 1.3 Tool, enter the Client ID, and click Submit.

  • Client ID: 6d9073aa-0c24-44e4-85cd-1c5bbc5f711f

The information will be filled in automatically. Please ensure the Tool Status is set to Approved and enter the following parameter into the Tool Provider Custom Parameters section.

  • contextHistory=$Context.id.history

Scroll down to the Institution Policies, select all options, and click Submit.

Find the installed tool from the list, expand its action menu, and select Manage Placement. 

Click Create Placement.

Enter the information for the placement.

  • Label: The name that will be displayed to users.
  • Handle: A unique identifier for this placement.
  • Availability: Yes
  • Type: Deep Linking Content Tool

Scroll down to the Tool Provider Information section, enter the following URI into the Target Link URI section, and click Submit.

The tool is now installed. Please follow the steps below to register the tool.

Register the tool

Log in to your Interactivity account, switch to Interactivity, click the user icon on the top right of the window, and select User Settings.

Scroll to the LTI 1.3 Settings section and click Generate Code. 

Copy the generated code.

Go back to Blackboard and follow the steps in this article to launch Interactivity from the course where the integration was installed.

The Register page will pop up. Click OK.

Paste the generated code from the Interactivity account into the Registration Token field and click Submit. The tool is now successfully registered! Refresh the page and start linking content to Blackboard.
