What is playlists in PlayPosit?

PlayPosit’s playlist provides a great way for instructors to create a comprehensive interactive learning experience with bulbs, documents, images, and other supplemental materials. Instructors will have full control over the playlist's structure and learners' learning pace. Please click the link below to view the sample playlist.

Playlists page overview

Click the playlists page on the sidebar to open the playlists page. On this page, you can find the following information.

  1. Create Playlist: Open the playlist designer to start building a new playlist.
  2. Search: Search playlists based on tags or keywords.
  3. Playlist title
  4. Tags: Click Add tags or Edit tags to add or edit tags for the playlist.
  5. Last modified: The last updated date of the playlist. Click the arrow next to it to sort the playlists based on the modified date.
  6. Actions: Click the triple dots button to expand the action menu. Instructors can perform the following actions to the playlist:
    • Edit: Open the playlist editor to edit the existing playlist.
    • Assign: Assign the playlist to the classes in PlayPosit.
    • Monitor: Open the monitor page for this playlist to examine learners’ progress in the playlist.
    • Share link: Access the assign link for this playlist.
    • Preview: Preview the playlist.
    • Collaborate: Add collaborators to the playlist.
    • Copy: Duplicate the playlist in your account.
    • Export Analytics: Export the data for all learners who take this Bulb.
    • Delete: remove the playlist from your account. The Bulbs in the playlist will remain in your account if the playlist is removed.

Create new playlist

Create new playlist

Click the Create Playlist button to launch the playlist designer.

Enter the playlist title and update the theme color for the playlist with the slide bar or hex code.

Create new modules in the playlist

Click Add Module to create a new module in the playlist. At least one module must be in the playlist.

Update the module title.

Add Bulbs to the playlist

Click Add Bulbs to import the Bulbs from your account into the playlist.

Click the import button next to the Bulb title to select the Bulbs. After selecting all the required Bulbs, click Add Bulbs to add them to this playlist.

Create new Bulbs in the playlist

Instructors can also create new Bulbs directly from the playlist. Click the Create New Bulb button on the top to launch the Bulb Designer and create a new Bulb. Please see this article for more information about creating Bulbs in PlayPosit.

Add other content to the playlist

Click Add Other to import other content to the playlist.

Instructors can add the following content to the playlist:

  • Attachment: upload the file in PDF, Doc, CSV, or image format to the playlist.
  • Web embed: Paste the URL to the input section to embed the website into the playlist. Please note the URL must be in “HTTPS://” format to be embeddable. Also, some websites might block the ability to be embedded. Please try alternate resources if the website is not embeddable. 
  • Text item: Enter the title and text description that will be displayed in the playlist. The title will also be shown in the table of contents.

Edit or remove the content in the playlist

Reorder each item in the playlist by dragging and dropping them on the table of contents.

Edit Bulbs in the playlist

Click the gear icon next to the Bulb to view the action menu. Instructors can perform the following actions to Bulbs in the playlist:

  • Bulb Settings: Adjust the Bulb's tags, playback options, and privacy settings.
  • Edit Bulb: Open the Bulb Designer to edit the Bulb.
  • Remove Bulb: Remove the Bulb from this playlist. They will still be in the instructor’s My Bulbs library.

Edit text items in the playlist

Hover over the text and click on the gear icon. In the slide-out window, edit the title and description or click Delete Text to delete them.

Remove web embed and attachment in the playlist

Hover over the item and click on the remove icon to remove the item from the playlist.

Adjust playlist settings, tags, and certificate settings

Playlist settings

Lock progression:  If the toggle is on, the items in the playlist will be locked, and learners will need to complete the item in the order set by the instructor to unlock the next item in the playlist.

Tags

Enter the keywords/tags, target audience, and subject for this playlist to help you organize the playlist.

Playlist visibility

This setting will only affect whether other users can find your content from the Premade Content library but will not affect whether learners can view the content assigned to them.

Certificate settings

Toggle on the Enable Playlist Certificate option to allow learners to download a certification of completion after completing the playlist. Instructors can also upload a customized badge, signature, and message to the certificate and click the Preview Certificate button to preview the certificate for this playlist.

Preview the playlist

There are two options to preview the playlist:

In the playlist editor, toggle the edit mode to preview mode with the toggle on the top right.

On the Playlists page, click the Actions button and select Preview. Please note that lock progression will not have an effect in the preview mode.

Assign playlists to learners

Playlists can be assigned to learners using the same workflow as assigning the Bulbs. Please follow the steps in the article below to assign playlists to learners.

Assign content to learners

Monitor playlists

To monitor the playlist, navigate to the Playlists page, click the actions button, and select Monitor

Select the class you want to monitor.

On the monitor page for the playlist, you can find the following information.

  1. Learner name: Learners’ names in the system
  2. Playlist score: The scores the learner receives from this assignment.
  3. Time Spent: The time the learner spent in this playlist.
  4. Status: Learner’s status in this assignment. There are three statuses:
    1. Completed: The learner completed all the items in the playlist. 
    2. In progress: The learner starts the playlist but has not yet completed all its items. 
    3. Not started: The learner has not started the playlist.
  5. Items in the playlist: Each item in the playlist will have a column on the playlist’s monitor page. If the item is a Bulb, the scores will be displayed in the column once the learner completes it. If the item is a file, web embed, or text, it will be marked as Completed when the learner completes it.
