Learn how educators can use question banks to support deeper learning and engagement with WeVideo's interactive video tools.

Create a question bank in Interactivity

Select Create New Interactive Video from the Interactive Videos page. Select a video host and select Create New Interaction. Customize the interaction, Add Interaction to Group, then Convert to question bank.

Use question banks to let students retake interactive videos with different questions than previous attempts. This ensures no memorization of the answers and makes cheating difficult.

Once at least two interactions are added to the group, click the Convert to question bank button right next to the interaction group. Repeat the process as needed. Convert a question bank back to the interaction group by clicking the three-stacked dots button and selecting Convert to Interaction Group.

Difference between interaction groups and question banks

  • Interaction groups: Multiple interactions added to the same group at the same timestamp. Interactions are displayed to learners in the order set by the teacher and learners must answer all questions to complete the interaction groups and move forward. All interactions can be added to interaction groups and do not have to be the same.
  • Question banks: Multiple questions added to the bank and only one is assigned to learners on each attempt. Students only need to answer the question assigned to them to complete the question bank and move forward. There can only be one question type for each bank.

Example of question banks as they appear in an educator's gradebook in WeVideo.

Question banks appear in the gradebook with a merged header to show the questions are in a question bank. Only one question in a bank is shown to a learner per interactive video attempt. Questions that haven’t appeared during the attempt show in the gradebook as “-”.

Question bank grading

All questions in the question bank have the same points value and students gain full credits from the question bank when they answer the assigned question correctly. Questions not assigned will not be counted or affect their final grade for the interactive video.

Students are not notified that a random question gets picked from the question bank. They answer it as a regular question.

Limitations to question banks

  • Only Multiple Choice or Check All That Apply options can be added to a question bank.
  • Only the same type of questions can be added to the question bank.
  • There must be at least two interactions to convert to a question bank.
