Hosting: Simplified content management
Hosting is PlayPosit’s newest add-on feature designed to help instructors store, search, and edit interactive video lessons within one platform. Use Hosting to:
- Manage content easily: Host, edit, and transform videos without additional media integrations.
- Make media searchable: Upload and organize lectures, short-form lessons, and online community events.
- Simplify tech stack and product training: Minimize costs and training time with one core video host.
- Customize professional content: Layer interactive elements and easily transcribe videos with the AI Subtitle Generator.
Hosting provides a new layer of video editing functionality, making PlayPosit an even more powerful end-to-end solution for interactive video design and content.
How to use Hosting in PlayPosit
Add videos to PlayPosit
Click the My Videos tab on the left sidebar to navigate to the My Videos page, where you can store, search, and organize videos.
There are two options to add videos to PlayPosit:
- Upload & Record: Upload videos from your device, create screen recordings, or record new videos with the webcam.
- Create: Open the WeVideo multimedia editor to create a new video. Please see these articles for more information about the video editor.
Click the triple dots menu button on the right side to expand the action menu. You can preview, edit, rename, download, or delete the video. You can also select Create Bulb to start building a new interactive video with the video.
Click the triple dots button and select Edit, or click the video title to access the editor and edit the video if needed. Once finished, click Finalize to complete editing. The video must be finalized before it can be used in the Bulb. You will have the option to automatically generate subtitles for your video to improve viewers' accessibility.
Auto-generate subtitles for uploaded videos
Subtitle Generator helps PlayPosit users create content with speech-to-text subtitles automatically. The video must be finalized and finished before using the subtitle generator.
Click the thumbnail of the video or the triple dots button and select Preview.
Click Subtitles to expand the subtitle panel and click Auto-generate Subtitles to generate subtitles.
After the subtitles are generated, you can click on them to edit any errors or typos if needed.
If you want to download the subtitles, click Download and select one of the options.
- Combine video and subtitles: The selected subtitles will be burned into the video and downloaded as a single file. The burn-in process happens after selecting the download option; therefore, it will not affect the video in your account.
- Separate video: Only download the video but not the generated subtitles.
- Separate Subtitle: Only download the subtitle as a .VTT file.
Build new Bulbs with My Videos
Select My Bulbs from the left sidebar to navigate to the My Bulbs page and click Create New Bulb to launch the Bulb editor to start building a new Bulb.
Select the My Videos option and choose the video to create the Bulb.
To edit the existing Bulb, click the thumbnail and select Edit from the menu to launch the Bulb editor. You can also assign Bulbs to learners, generate shareable links, add collaborators, and more with this menu.
