WeVideo Interactivity can be integrated into Canvas as an LTI 1.3 tool. The integration allows instructors to assign interactive videos and playlists from their account to Canvas assignments and allows learners' grades to sync to the Canvas grade book automatically after they complete the assignment. Please follow the instructions below to install the WeVideo integration into your Canvas environment.
Install the WeVideo Interactivity Canvas Integration Tool
After logging into Canvas as admin, select the Admin tab from the sidebar and select the organization you want to install the tool.
Switch to the Developer Keys page and click the +Developer Key button.
Select LTI Key.
Complete the key setting with the following information:
- Key Name: Provide a unique name for the tool so you can locate which one your tool is and what it is used for.
- Method: Manual Entry.
- Redirect URIs: https://playposit.wevideo.com/api/5/lti/playposit/login
- Title: The tool title that will be displayed to other users.
- Description: A brief description of the tool.
- Target Link URL: https://playposit.wevideo.com/app
- OpenID Connect Initiation URL: https://playposit.wevideo.com/api/5/lti/playposit/auth
- JWK Method: Select the Public JWK URL and enter https://playposit.wevideo.com/.well-known/jwks
- LTI Advantage Services: Toggle on all the options.
- Privacy Level: Public
- Placement: Assignment Selection
- target Link URI: https://www.wevideo.com/api/5/lti/playposit/auth
Save the tool to complete the installation.
Copy the Client ID from the Details column.
Select Settings from the left sidebar, select Apps, and select View App Configurations.
Click the +APP button.
Change the Configuration Type to By Client ID, paste in the Client ID previously copied, and click Submit to add the tool to your organization.
Register the Tool
Log into your WeVideo account and switch to Interactivity.
Click the user icon on the top right of the window, select User Settings, and scroll to the bottom.
Click Generate Code and copy the generated code.
Go back to Canvas, navigate to any of your courses, and create a new assignment.
Change the submission type to External tool, and find the WeVideo Interactivity tool from the list.
Enter the Registration Code and click Submit.
The WeVideo Interactivity Integration is now successfully registered and is ready to use!
