How to resolve the Google error: This App Is Blocked”?

If you’re getting a Google error saying “This App Is Blocked” when using WeVideo, it’s because you need to add WeVideo to be a trusted app in your settings. If you are a Google Workspace Administrator, you can troubleshoot and update these settings in just a few minutes by following these instructions.

Before You Start

Please note that this setting can only be adjusted by a Google Workspace Administrator. If you are not the administrator, you’ll need to work with the person who can make these adjustments. 

Troubleshooting Steps

When you run into a “This App Is Blocked” message, it’s quick and easy to adjust your settings.

  1. Navigate to your Google Workspace Admin dashboard.
  2. From the dashboard, find the search bar at the top. Search "API controls" and select the option nested under "Security".
  3. Click "Manage Third-Party App Access" on the right side of the page.
  4. Scroll down to or search for the name "WeVideo".
  5. Click Change Access.
  6. Select Trusted and submit.

Now, Google will stop blocking WeVideo from accessing the information in your account.
