How Do I Complete the Learner Made Bulb Assignment as a Student?

In this article:

The Learner Made Bulb (LMB) assignment in Interactivity allows you to utilize the Bulb designer to create your own Bulbs as a student and submit it to your instructors. Please see more information about how to complete the LMB assignment in Interactivity below.

Launch the LMB assignment

After logging into your WeVideo account, click the Multimedia Creation button on the top and select Interactivity.

Select the class from the list.

Click the title of the assignment to start taking the LMB.

Import videos to your Bulb

There are three options to import videos to the Bulb:

  • Use the YouTube or Vimeo button to search for the videos from these platforms directly in the Bulb designer.
  • Use the WeVideo button to import the exported projects into your WeVideo account.
  • Use the Input URL option to import the YouTube or Vimeo video with the link.

Select the video from the list. You can click on Customize to edit/add captions and trim the video if needed, and click Done to complete the import process.

Click Add Video and repeat the steps above to add more videos to this Bulb.

Add interactions to your Bulb

Switch to the Interactions tab on the top.

Drag the white playhead on the progress bar to the timestamp you want to add the interaction and click the Add an Interaction button.

Select the interaction type you want to add, and enter the content for the interaction. Please see this article for more information about different types of interactions.

Repeat the steps to add more interactions to your Bulb.

(Optional)Set up discussions to allow instructors to leave feedback with timestamps

When adding interactions to the LMB, learners can follow the steps below to add a discussion interaction to the Bulb to allow instructors to leave feedback directly in the Bulb.

Add a Discussion interaction to the Bulb.

Enter the text for the discussion, and click Timing on the top.

Click Advanced to expand the advanced setting and enter the start time and end time of the Bulb so the discussion will be displayed throughout the Bulb. Click Done to save the discussion.

When reviewing the LMB, instructors can enter their feedback into the discussion interaction, and the feedback will come with the timecode where the instructor entered it. Learners can also reply to the feedback to start the discussion with their instructors.

Review and submit your Bulb

Switch to the Review tab on the top. Edit the title if needed, and click on Preview to preview your Bulb. After confirming everything looks good, click Submit to turn in your Bulb.

Please note that once you submit your Bulb, you cannot edit it anymore.

After seeing the confirmation page, you can close this tab and return to your WeVideo account.

Grading a Bulb and Reviewing Grades

Once a student submits a bulb, the educator will find the completed assignment in the Bulbs section of their account.

To grade the Learner Made Bulb, click Monitor on the appropriate title (that also has a bulb for an icon) and then click the class associated with the Bulb.

To grade each student, filter attempt status ( as needed), click the box next to the student's name and click Enter Grade Mode. Score the bulb on a 1-10 scale and then click Save Grades

After your instructor grades your submission, students can view the score from the grade book in the Interactivity.
