Playlist provides a great way for instructors to create a comprehensive interactive learning experience with interactive videos, documents, websites, and other supplemental materials. Instructors will have full control over the playlist's structure and learners' learning pace. Please see more information on how to create a playlist in this article.
Playlist Page Overview
Click the Playlists tab on the sidebar to navigate to the playlist page. Users will find the following information on this page.
- Create Playlist: Open the playlist designer and start building a new playlist. Please follow the instructions in the next section to create a playlist.
- Search: Search playlists based on keywords and tags.
- Playlist’s title
- Tags
- Playlist’s last update date

Actions button: Expand the menu with more action options. Instructors can take the following actions to the playlist.
- Edit: Open the playlist in the playlist designer and continue editing it.
- Assign: Assign the playlist to classes for learners.
- Share Link: Access the assigning link for this playlist.
- Preview: Preview the playlist.
- Copy: Create a copied playlist in the instructor’s account.
- Delete: Delete the playlist.
Create a Playlist
Click the Create Playlist button on the playlist page to launch the playlist designer.
Edit the playlist title and change the theme color with the slide bar or enter the HEX code.
Click Add Module to create a module to host content in the playlist. There must be at least one module in the playlist, and the users can create multiple modules for a playlist if needed.
Click the module title to rename it.
Click Add Interactive Videos to import interactive videos from the My Interactive Videos page.
Select the interactive videos by clicking the import icon in front of them. Once all the desired interactive videoss are selected, click Add Interactive Videos on the top right to import those interactive videos. You can also import Learner Made Interactive Videos to the playlist for learners to create their own interactive videos as activities in this playlist. Please see this article for more information about Learner Made Interactive Videos.
Users can also create new interactive videos by clicking the Create New Interactive Videos button on the top, which will open the interactive videos Designer for users to build a new interactive video. Please see this article for more information about creating interactive videos in Interactivity.
Click Add Other under the module to import other supplemental resources to the playlist.
Users can add the resources in the following formats to the playlist:
- Attachment: Upload a file in PDF, DOC, CSV, or image format to the playlist. The image file name will be the alternative text for the image and will be read out by the screen reader.
- Web Embed: Paste the URL to the input section to embed the website into the playlist. Please note the URL must be in “HTTPS://” format to be embeddable. Also, some websites might block the ability to be embedded. Please try alternate resources if the website is not embeddable.
- Text item: Enter the title and text description that will be displayed in the playlist. The title will also show on the table of contents.
Edit or Remove Contents in the Playlist
Reorder each item in the playlist by dragging and dropping them on the table of contents.
Interactive Videos
Click on the gear icon. There will be three options:
- Interactive Video Settings: Adjust the interactive videos's tags, playback options, and privacy settings.
- Edit Interactive Videos: Open the interactive videos in the interactive videos Designer to edit it.
- Remove Interactive Videos: remove the interactive videos from this playlist. The interactive videos will still be in the instructor’s My Interactive Videos library.
Text
Hover over the text, and click on the gear icon. Edit the title and description on the slide-out window, or click Delete Text to delete it.
Web Embed & File
Hover over the item and click on the remove icon to remove the item from the playlist.
Adjust Playlist Settings, Tags, and Certificate Settings
Playlist settings
Lock progression: If the toggle is on, the items in the playlist will be locked, and learners will need to complete the item in the order set by the instructor to unlock the next item in the playlist.
Tags
Enter the keywords/tags, target audience, and subject for this playlist to help you organize the playlist.
Certificate Settings
Toggle on the Enable Playlist Certificate option to allow learners to download a certification of completion after completing the playlist. Users can also upload a customized badge, signature, and message to the certificate. You can also click the Preview Certificate button to preview the certificate for this playlist.
Preview and Assign the Playlist
Preview the playlist
There are two options to preview the playlist:
- In the playlist editor, toggle the edit mode to preview mode with the toggle on the top right.
- On the Playlists page, click the triple dots button, and select Preview.
Please note that lock progression will not have an effect in the preview mode.
Assign a playlist
Click Assign on the top right in the playlist designer or select Assign from the action menu.
Select the Assign preferences for the playlist. There are four different options:
- Assign to students: The user with a student account can access this playlist.
- Assign to professional learning: The user with a teacher account can access this playlist. Please see this article for more information on using Interactivity for professional learning. This option is available for the users with the district plan.
- Assign to people outside the organization: Anyone can access this playlist with the link. Users will be asked to enter their first and last name before starting the playlist. This option is available for the users with the district plan.
- Assign to anonymous participants: Anyone can access this playlist with the link. No user information is required to start the playlist. This option is available for the users with the district plan.
Set the start and end dates for this assignment. The assignment will appear in the class after the start date, and the playlist link will not work until the start date. The end date is the due date for the assignment, and the assignment will be blocked after the end date. If no end date is assigned, the playlist will always be available to learners.
Select the classes you want to assign this playlist to and click Assign on the top right of the window.
Copy the playlist link and share it with learners or copy the embed code and embed it to the desired website. Click Done to close the window and go back to Interactivity.
If you need to acquire the playlist link or embed code again in the future, please click on the Actions button, and select Share Link to view the playlist link and embed code.
Monitor
On the Playlist monitor page, you can find the following information:
- Learner’s name
- Playlist score: This is the average score the learner acquired from all the interactive videos in this playlist.
- Time spent on this playlist

Score and status for each item in the playlist. You can click on the interactive videos title on the top to view the learners’ progress in the individual interactive videos.
